Leah Remini was a devout Scientologist for over 30 years.

After loudly leaving the church in July 2013, the actress will release a book on Nov.3 titled "Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology."

The book details Remini's split with the controversial religion.

While promoting the book in an upcoming interview on ABC’s "20/20," Remini explains in the teaser

"The decision to leave [Scientology] is you giving up everything you've worked for your entire life. I think people need to understand this has been my whole life and I want them to understand how it happened. As time goes, on, you begin to lose touch with the real world. So the mindset becomes 'us against them.'"

As for Scientology's most famous member, Remini reveals: "Being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself... you are evil."

At the time of her departure from the religion, the 45-year-old actress explained to People magazine: "I believe that people should be able to question things. I believe that people should value family, and value friendships, and hold those things sacrosanct. That for me, that's what I'm about. It wouldn't matter what it was, simply because no one is going to tell me how I need to think, no one is going to tell me who I can, and cannot, talk to."
