In 2006's "Devil Wears Prada," Anne Hathaway's character "Andy" expertly plays the doting assistant to her maniacal, high maintenance boss, played by Meryl Streep.
It went on to garner two Oscar nominations and rake in nearly $327 million at the box office. Needless to say, the tale of the abused assistant struck a chord with audiences.
Last month, we gave you our list of "The 20 Most Powerful Publicists In Hollywood," and this month, we want to know who are the most promising assistants in Hollywood.
We want to find the people who, like Hathaway's "Devil" character, are really running the show behind-the-scenes. People who not only make coffee runs, manage calendars and roll calls, but those who really give creative input to their powerful bosses, are key gatekeepers to the business's top players, are assigned special side projects, are talking to big wigs on a daily basis and who can be found wheeling and dealing even after office hours have ended.
And we're looking all over the entertainment industry — from talent agencies to TV networks, film studios, PR firms and even personal celebrity assistants.
To help Business Insider's entertainment channel, The Wire, put together a ranking of the most promising assistants, we need your help.
Nominate yourself, your co-workers, rising stars, frenemies. And bosses, tell us why your assistant is the best in the 'biz.
In order to nominate someone, or yourself (all confidentially, of course), email Aweisman@businessinsider.com with the following info by Wednesday, November 7:
- Name, title, company, name of boss, boss' title.
- Why this person is so influential behind-the-scenes.
- If you have one, a photo.
- For those who are nominating someone at their own company, we're asking you to tell us (off the record) who you would also nominate from rival companies or other areas of the industry. That way we can make the most comprehensive list possible, and it cancels out self-serving nominations.
We look forward to your nominations!
