  • Princess Charlene of Monaco is becoming known for her daring and gorgeous fashion choices.
  • Her recent silver-sequined jumpsuit was much more fashion-forward than the typical princess style.

Kate Middleton has long been one royal to watch, especially when it comes to her
fashion choices. The Duchess of Cambridge is known for her literal sartorial decisions and modern updates on classic silhouettes. However, she isn’t the only royal getting attention right now for her style. Princess Charlene of Monaco stepped out in a daring ensemble over the weekend that just might change how you think about princess style.

Princess Charlene of Monaco

The former Olympian attended the 69th Annual Red Cross Ball Gala at Sporting Monte-Carlo with her husband, Prince Albert II, on Friday in a stunning, silver-sequined jumpsuit.

Princess Charlene of Monaco

The custom Atelier Versace, which she accented with a bold smoky eye and tousled, slicked-back locks, is a decidedly more fashion-forward silhouette than traditional royal style. And it’s just the latest example of her sartorial prowess. Check out some of her other gorgeous looks below.

Princess Charlene

Green Glory: The princess wowed in a floor-length, one-shoulder dress as she awarded medals at the Diamond League athletics series in Monaco this month. She topped it off with a big, bold, and colorful necklace reminiscent of her home country, South Africa.

Princess Charlene

Glam Gal: Her Serene Highness may have been attending the Monte Carlo TV Show festival, but she was the one stealing the show in her bright red gown.

A model spoke out against using Photoshop on social media in the most powerful way

Amanda Steele_1

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Amanda Steele is a popular model and blogger based out of Los Angeles.
  • Recently, she spoke out on Twitter against those who Photoshop their Instagram photos.
  • Steele believes that Photoshopping creates an unrealistic standard of beauty that is misleading.
  • Instead, she believes people should "appreciate natural beauty."
  • Her views have gone viral, with several users commenting on the issue.

The question of whether or not Photoshop should be used on social media has been the subject of fierce debate.

Some users don't see a problem with it, while others believe altering images poses a dangerous threat to those who believe they are real.

Popular model and blogger Amanda Steele is the latest person to speak out on the subject. In a series of tweets, the 27-year-old argued against people who "edit themselves so much on Instagram."

Her main point was that it's impossible for anyone to meet the standard of beauty Photoshopping creates.

"People edit themselves so much on Instagram it's sad that people can't just appreciate natural beauty,"Steele tweeted to her 991,000 followers. "How is ANYONE supposed to live up to these expectations when they are false??"

In particular, she called out "influencers" with large social followings. "Making your personal profile [an] unrealistic version of yourself is not fair," she wrote.

"There are so many girls out there wondering why they aren't that beautiful or skinny etc... you have no idea what you put these girls thru,"she tweeted.

However, some of Steele's followers questioned her own authenticity when she shares selfies online.

One person suggested that "makeup is considered editing too" in response to Steele's rant.

Whether or not you agree with Steele's stance on Photoshopping, her call to "NEVER COMPARE YOURSELF TO PEOPLE ONLINE" is a message we can get behind.

Sofia Vergara poses nude for Women's Health magazine

Sofia Vergara

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Sofia Vergara posed nude for the cover of Women's Health's September issue.
  • The cover is for the magazine's first ever global "Naked Issue."
  • The magazine's team felt that Vergara is a celebrity who would resonate around the world.

Women’s Health is baring all for its September issue.

The cover of the magazine’s “naked” issue features Sofia Vergara sitting on a wooden block, completely nude save for the shiny brunette waves cascading down her back (in the new publishing era, even the cover benefited from a brand partnership — Vergara is a spokeswoman for Head & Shoulders, and the magazine made a deal with the company for advertorials).

“The goal is to show really confident, strong women in their own skin,” said editor in chief Amy Keller Laird. The idea of showing some skin came from the U.K. edition, which has had cover stars pose au naturel on its September issue for the past three years. The U.S. led the charge on taking that concept and making it bigger. The concept, with Vergara on the cover, will run globally on 15 editions.

“Step one was finding someone who would resonate around the world, and there’s only a few people who do that,” Keller Laird said. According to Keller Laird, there was a shortlist of three stars whom the editors of all the global issues could agree on, and the “Modern Family” star was number one. Although the decision was, according to the magazine, an editorial one, being able to work with Head & Shoulders on ads and online advertorials was, no doubt, a plus.

The editors took the “naked” concept and applied it to all the content in the issue. There are instructions for how to take the peels of fruit and vegetables, guides to natural snacks and cosmetics, service pieces about vitamin deficiencies and which articles of clothing to remove at various doctors, stories about auras and climate change.

“We are looking at nakedness not just literally and physically, but mentally, emotionally, metaphorically,” Keller Laird explained. “We wanted to make sure to take the concept and not be utterly cheesy about it.”

Even Keller Laird disrobed for the issue. Photos that accompany her editor’s letter show her topless — at least, from the shoulders up.

“Our editorial director essentially said that if I was asking all these women to strip down and bare it all, shouldn’t I be willing to do the same?” she said. “But really, I’m only showing a little shoulder. There are different forms of nakedness and rawness and being open, and mine is more an emotional nakedness.”

The issue, which hits newsstands on August 8, comes as parent company Rodale begins to entertain bidders in preparation for a potential sale.

Drew Barrymore goes makeup-free and still looks gorgeous

Drew Barrymore

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Drew Barrymore posted a makeup-free selfie to her Instagram.
  • The actress pointed out that her brows are a little more untamed than usual — but she still looks great.
  • Barrymore is getting ready to film the second season of "Santa Clarita Diet."

Ever gazed upon the face of a celeb and thought to yourself, "Dang, I wish I could look that #flawless?"

Well, fam, there's a whole lot that goes into getting a celeb ready for high-gloss magazine photos, high-def TV appearances and big screens. And when they haven't put the work in, they actually look an awful lot like (*gasp!*) normal people.

Don't believe me? Feast your eyes upon a makeup-free selfie posted by Drew Barrymore, who did what many of us can only dream of doing: post a very real, very unfiltered selfie that shows off the fact that her brows are a little more untamed than usual. How can someone still look so dang good between brow appointments?

#becomingsheila OH MY GOD How did I let it get this bad. Base and brows needed. Must become her. #santaclaritadiet here we go again. Season two.

A post shared by Drew Barrymore (@drewbarrymore) on Jul 31, 2017 at 9:49am PDT on

"OH MY GOD How did I let it get this bad. Base and brows needed," Barrymore wrote before referencing her "Santa Clarita Diet" character, Sheila Hammond, and the work it's gonna take to get ready to film the show's second season. "#becomingsheila... Must become her. #santaclaritadiet here we go again. Season two."

Barrymore is kind of known for living a makeup-free life, so it's not all that surprising that she got really into enjoying her downtime and focused on having fun instead of keeping up appearances — something we could all learn a little bit from, ya know? Even though she has her own makeup line, she told The New York Times in January that her own beauty routine is as minimal as they come.

"I would say 90 percent of my life, I wear zero makeup," she said at the time.

OK, but can she teach me her ways? Because no way in hell am I leaving the house without filling in my brows. Ugh.

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Kim Kardashian likes to make her faux glow look as even and natural as possible.
  • She revealed that she always applies sunless tanner to the center part in her hair.
  • If she can't get a spray tan, she'll put bronzer or a bronze eyeshadow on her part to help darken it.

We all have our different methods to achieve a healthy glow, and for
Kim Kardashian West that means a healthy spray tanning habit. In the spirit of sharing, West shared one of her most surprising tips to achieving a perfect head-to-toe faux glow.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star took to her app and website to reveal the spray tan secret that truly makes her bronzed all over. “After so many years of having them done, I picked up an unusual trick that makes all the difference,” she wrote. “I always ask if I can have the part in my hair sprayed, as well as my body!” And if this seems like an ultra-specific request to you, she explains why she asks for this surprising detail. “I normally have a center part, so if it’s not sprayed, it becomes obvious and appears really pale,” the mom to North, four, and Saint, one, revealed.

She even shared that it’s not just her dark hair that creates a pale contrast in her part. “When I have blond hair, it’s even more crucial to spray my part,” West wrote.

For those days when she has to DIY, West turns to her makeup drawer. “When I can’t get a spray tan or it’s been a few days since I’ve last had one, I will put a bronze eyeshadow or bronzer on my part to make the color look more natural,” she said.

Before you scramble to see if your own bronzer will work, she suggested some products that she uses to make her tan literally from head to toe.

2. Jimmy Jimmy Coco Self Tanning Mist ($35)

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Jimmy Kimmel browsed through a random user's Reddit history on his show Tuesday night.
  • Some of it was"filthy stuff," in Kimmel's words.
  • He had Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian on as a guest.
  • The user posted on Reddit Wednesday saying the whole situation is "cool and a story to tell."

On Tuesday night's episode of ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," the host showed off the posting history of a random Reddit user to his millions of viewers, including material that's too NSFW to type here. And the Reddit user is totally fine with it.

"On the one hand it felt like [I messed up], when he revealed my history with 'filthy stuff' as he said,"the Reddit user, gryff42, wrote in a post. "On the other hand it's just cool and a story to tell. However I regret nothing!"

Kimmel was browsing Reddit because of his guest, Alexis Ohanian. Ohanian is one of Reddit's cofounders and its current executive chairman (and also the fiancé of Serena Williams). Ohanian was explaining how the site was used by millions of people around the world to share and discuss their interests.

"You have these users — this is gryff42 — who might have an important day job, they might be a bored college student, they might be a head of state," Ohanian said. "You don't know!"

From the site's front page, Kimmel clicked into gryff42's user profile and scrolled through headlines like "This children's seat looks totally creepy" and another one that referenced drug use and unhealthy sexual behavior and linked to photos of the user's penis.

"Definitely not a head of state," Kimmel joked. "We can go way down the rabbit hole here. Yeah, there's some filthy stuff on here."

While he may be getting some unwanted attention, Gryff42 took it in stride, joking about the situation in his post to the "Today I F---ed Up" subreddit.

"When I checked my phone the next morning my reddit inbox exploded over the sheer amount of youtube links I received. I checked them and found my submission on the latest Jimmy Kimmel Show with Reddit Co-Founder Alexis Ohanian. I was mind blown over this.

...

Keep in mind they even named and showed my username - he made it look like there was a lot of filthy stuff going on in my history so this was quite embarrassing for me and Im getting a lot of crazy messages now."

Why Prince William and Kate Middleton never let their kids play with an iPad

prince william kate middleton prince george and princess charlotteThe INSIDER Summary:

  • Kate Middleton and Prince William like to keep things old-school when it comes to their kids' toys.
  • The royal parents don't let them play with high-tech gadgets like iPads.
  • They encourage little George and Charlotte to play outdoors and use their imaginations instead.

The Royals like to maintain traditions. For example, there’s a very specific reason behind
Prince George wearing shorts all the time, dating way back down their family tree. The concept of a royal family itself seems like a concept from a bygone era. Even as the world modernizes, the British royal family stays much the same, and apparently, this culture of constants extends all the way to George and Charlotte’s playroom.

According to US Weekly, Prince William and Kate Middleton ban their children from playing with iPads, and offer up more traditional, low tech toys to them.

The gadgets are meant for grown ups like William and Kate, a source told US Weekly.

“They’re very much seen as Mummy and Daddy’s toys, not for children. As two people who grew up without gadgets for entertainment themselves, William and Kate are firm believers in toys, outdoor play and encouraging an active imagination.”

The restriction on technology has a very reasonable justification beyond William and Kate’s own childhood experience. Playing on iPads in early childhood has been linked to significant delays in speech development, according to CNN.

Please stop telling me to wear contact lenses at my wedding

bride, married, wedding, flowers

The INSIDER Summary:

  • People often have strong opinions about a bride-to-be's style, including their choice to wear glasses or contacts.
  • Some people think wearing glasses may detract from wedding photos or hide your eyes.
  • However, some brides are choosing to embrace their glasses instead of making temporary changes to their appearance.

If there's one thing I've learned since getting engaged in October of last year, it's that everyone you meet will have an opinion about some aspect of your wedding. I've learned to smile and nod when random strangers and acquaintances try to explain the relative merits of real flowers versus fake ones, but there's one comment that I really can't stand: Please, stop telling me to wear contacts to my wedding.

It goes like this. We start with some idle chatter about my dress. Then, whoever I'm speaking to looks up, takes stock of my brown frames with big, circular lenses, and says something like, "Wait, what are you doing about your glasses?" The honest answer is that I'm not doing anything about my glasses, except for wearing them. "But why," my partner in this increasingly awkward conversation asks. "Why don't you just get contacts for the one day?"

I know it seems nitpicky to focus on such a relatively innocent question considering all the insensitive things people say to brides and grooms. And yes, I'd rather have you remark on my eyewear situation than ask me repeatedly why I'm not changing my last name after I'm married (or, even worse, simply assume I'm changing my last name). But the truth is that my glasses are like an extension of my face. I'm not wearing contacts on my wedding day for the same reason I'm not flat ironing my hair — I want to feel like me.

💭🍣🍷☕️🍦

A post shared by Erin Mayer (@erinkmayer) on May 26, 2017 at 6:36pm PDT on

I got my first pair of glasses in seventh grade after months of squinting at the slide projector in my darkened biology classroom, a headache building behind my eyes. They had thick, black frames, they were Prada, and, best of all, they allowed me to see my surroundings in high definition again. Wearing them made me feel sophisticated and intelligent. I liked having a physical barrier between myself and the world — glasses seemed to make it easier for me to retreat, to observe from a safe distance.

In the years since, I've rarely, if ever, wished I didn't need glasses. Sure, they occasionally get in the way when I exercise, they make wearing false eyelashes next to impossible, and they have a sexy way of fogging up when I enter a heated room in the winter, but they also make my outfits more interesting and add character to my face. I love the feeling of complete transformation that comes with trying on a new pair, how different glasses can change my entire face in an instant.

I said "no" and "maybe" to lots of dresses today 👰🏻

A post shared by Erin Mayer (@erinkmayer) on Jan 9, 2017 at 1:52pm PST on

I did briefly consider trying out contacts when I began looking at wedding dresses, just like I briefly considered applying to be on "Say Yes To The Dress." But then the reality of poking my eye with a polymer disk settled in and I quickly realized I'd much rather have to contend with a glasses glare than worry about having to master contact lenses before the big day. There are so many details to fret over when it comes to planning a wedding, and I don't need my vision to be one of them.

When pressed, people tell me I should wear contacts for my wedding because its the most important day of my life — and I'm still not totally convinced of that. They also argue that glasses will detract from the photos, or because I have beautiful eyes, or any number of reasons that all boil down to essentially the same thing: Wearing glasses will prevent me from becoming the Disney princess ideal of a bride that all women allegedly dream of being. They are probably imagining some sort of '90s teen comedy moment where the unsightly nerd turns into a beautiful homecoming queen the minute she takes off her eyewear.

*gazes lovingly at ice cream*

A post shared by Erin Mayer (@erinkmayer) on Jun 18, 2017 at 5:26pm PDT on

But it's no longer the '90s and we've all figured out that Laney Boggs always looked like Rachael Leigh Cook, glasses or no glasses. I'm not approaching my wedding as an opportunity to change anything about myself, not even the the things I don't like, so why would I alter something that I do?

When I look back on my wedding photos in 10, 15, or 20 years, I don't want to see a glamorous stranger who managed to fake 20/20 vision for a few hours by getting over her fear of touching her eyeballs long enough to insert contact lenses. I want to see a souped-up version of the woman I look at in the mirror every day — four eyes and all.

14 etiquette rules the royal family must always follow

royal family buckhingham palace Trooping the Colour

The INSIDER Summary:

  • The royal family must follow a set of etiquette rules in order to uphold their proper reputation.
  • There are small but important rules regarding the way you sit, curtsy, and hold a tea cup.
  • Perhaps most importantly, Queen Elizabeth II is always first when part of a procession.

From the way you eat to the way you walk down a flight of stairs, here's what it takes to have the manners of a royal.

Sit like a royal

One of the worst things a woman in the royal family can do — as far as etiquette rules go — is sit with her legs crossed at the knee. Legs and knees must be kept together, although crossing at the ankle is fine. One popular pose is called “the duchess slant,” coined by Beaumont Etiquette and named for the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. Her go-to sitting position involves keeping her knees and ankles tightly together and slanting her legs to the side. It keeps her posture modest and makes her legs appear longer. In fact, the late Princess Diana was known to sit the exact same way.

Make your curtsy subtle

Royal curtsies don’t need to reach the floor; simply put one leg behind the other, bend your knees, and bow your head slightly. However, deeper curtsies and long pauses are a sign of respect and formality, for instance, when meeting Queen Elizabeth II.

Dress appropriately

The royals have a knack for being fashionable. Princess Diana’s fashion sense was functional but classy, one that many women still copy today. The Queen famously wears neon outfits on more occasions than not. Kate Middleton loves different patterns and textures. Yet they all have one thing in common: They dress modestly and for the occasion.

marriage proposal

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Some grooms come up with less traditional ways to pop the question.
  • A few of the more adventurous ideas include proposing while mountain climbing and a proposal on live TV.
  • Some of these inventive proposals didn't go quite as smoothly as planned.

Some grooms to be are really willing to go the extra mile to surprise their potential brides, so much so that all the normal down-on-one-knee-with-a-ring stuff looks like child's play. We caught up with some particularly adventurous types who were willing to share their over the top, totally outrageous marriage proposals.

When in doubt, include her pet cat

"My husband pretended that our kitten ate the promise ring he had gotten me," shares now-wed Kristen Roberts. "As I frantically searched for it—and I was hysterical—he sat me down and said, 'I think you might need a new ring' and then asked me to marry him. I was so flustered with the entire situation I just kept crying and asked him if he was joking. I finally realized he was serious and my kitten didn't eat the promise ring, and said yes." The cat, by the way, was holding the new and improved ring. Check out this marriage advice from folks married 50+ years.

This guy took Pearl Jam to the next level

"My now-hubby knew I was a giant Pearl Jam fan, and we had a trip to Paris planned," shared Nadine Courtney of her husband Erik. "He had a Hollywood composer friend of his (who has done the music for a zillion films) orchestrate a version of my favorite Pearl Jam song, "Yellow Ledbetter," and then had a French friend of ours scout out two random musicians in Paris to learn it and play it. When we were in Paris visiting our friend, she took us down by the Seine for a walk, and I saw these two musicians hanging out by a bridge. I sort of rolled my eyes, because it had just started to rain, and I was like, 'Musicians hanging out under a bridge in the rain?! How French!' But Erik walked up to them and asked them in French he had learned if they knew how to play "Yellow Ledbetter." Obviously they did, they started playing it, and then we danced to it for about a minute before Erik got down on one knee and proposed." Think it sounds super cute? The video of the proposal is even cuter.

Some guys surprise a girl at work

This beaming groom-to-be from Brooklyn included his girlfriend's entire elementary school class in his proposal. Her young students each participated in the surprise proposal by holding flowers, cheering the couple on, and generally making the warmest, cutest environment anyone could every ask for. Megan Fox is being shamed for posting an Instagram photo of her 4-year-old son wearing a dress

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Megan Fox posted a photo of her 4-year-old son wearing a dress on Instagram.
  • Some commenters shamed Fox, but others applauded her for letting her son wear what he wants.
  • Fox has previously said that she won't force her children to follow traditional gender roles.

Moms face constant judgment for almost everything they do, and people are especially critical of how famous moms dress their kids.

Although Megan Fox doesn't usually share much of her personal life on social media, the actress has become the latest celebrity mom to have her parenting skills scrutinized by online bullies.

On July 31, Fox posted an Instagram picture showing Polaroid photos of her husband Brian Austin Green and their sons Journey (who turns 1 on August 4), Bodhi (3), and Noah (4).

In one of the Polaroids, Noah, her oldest child, was wearing a dress featuring an image of Elsa, the main character from "Frozen." The photos also showed that both Noah and Bodhi have shoulder-length hair.

A post shared by Megan Fox (@the_native_tiger) on

Some people were outraged by the image of Noah in a dress and left hateful comments on the photo.

"Why is the oldest boy wearing a dress?" one commenter asked.

"I JUST THINK IS NOT A GOOD IDEA...BOYS LEARN VERY QUICKLY AT THAT AGE AND CAN START THINKING IT'S OK," another wrote.

Others accused Fox of being a bad mother and forcing her son to wear a dress.

"Another Hollywood weirdo mom... so disgusting you allow your son to wear princess dresses," a user wrote.

"She definitely is determining that they be girly with those dresses and haircuts, kids don't decide they want long hair," someone else commented.

However, many people were quick to defend Fox and her children.

"Let kids be kids! They look beautiful and happy!" one person wrote.

"He's dressing up," another commenter wrote. "Chill out[.] I'm sure there's worse thing[s] a parent could do that [sic] let their little boy dress up in a Elsa dress."

Users also agreed that it's refreshing to see a mother give her children freedom to express themselves.

"Nice to see you let your kids dress how they want and have long hair," one user wrote.

Based on these reactions, it's easy to see why Fox might want to keep her personal life private.

In the past, Fox and her husband have made it perfectly clear that they're not enforcing gender roles on her children.

This means that the actress and her husband allow their three sons to dress and style their hair however they want to — even if it doesn't match up with what might be deemed "normal" for young boys.

A post shared by Megan Fox (@the_native_tiger) on

"Noah wears dresses, so there are no rules," Fox said during an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live in February 2016. "You can be whatever you want to be in my house!"

Later, in November 2016, photos of Noah and Bodhi wearing dresses and skirts went viral.

While it seems that there's always someone who has something mean to say on social media, it looks like Fox won't let that change her parenting style.

A woman invited the Obamas to her wedding and they gave the sweetest response

michelle and barack obamaThe INSIDER Summary:

  • A woman invited Barack and Michelle Obama to her wedding on a whim back in March.
  • They actually responded back by congratulating the bride on her nuptials.
  • A photo of the letter was posted on Twitter and has since been liked over 139,000 times.
  • The viral photo has prompted messages from other people who've also recieved letters from the Obamas for various occasions.

Not that you were looking for yet another reason to love the former President and First Lady of the United States, but here’s one more for good measure. On a whim, one woman invited Barack and Michelle to her upcoming nuptials, and the Obamas actually responded to her wedding invitation. The fact that they responded at all is amazing by most standards. (There are more than a handful of weddings where I cut my RSVP date pretty close to the deadline.) But what’s more is they didn’t just check “no” on the RSVP, like us mere mortals. That’s right, the Obamas are even thoughtful when they decline a stranger's wedding invitation.

Twitter user Brooke shared a photo of the letter that her mom Liz Whitlow, the aforementioned bride, received from the Obamas. She captioned the photo, “MY MOM DEADASS SENT THE OBAMAS A WEDDING INVITATION BACK IN MARCH AND JUST RECEIVED THIS IN THE MAIL. I'M HOLLERING.” If there were any occasion to type in all caps, this would be the most appropriate of occasions.

One of my preferred forms of self care is wondering what the Obamas are doing at any given moment. It is an admittedly creepy respite from the fiery death pit that is our current news cycle. Occasionally, that line of thinking takes me down a path of supposing whether or not the Obamas would partake in what I am currently partaking. I can now rest assured knowing that they would love to attend any and all future weddings I go to, but probably can’t on account of the fact that they’re the Obamas.

The letter, which is adorned by a Barack and Michelle Obama letterhead (#StationeryGoals), reads as follows:

"Congratulations on your wedding. We hope that your marriage is blessed with love, laughter, and happiness and that your bond grows stronger with each passing year. This occasion marks the beginning of a lifelong partnership, and as you embark on this journey, know you have our very best for the many joys and adventures that lie ahead."

Now you never have to worry about what to write in a wedding card ever again. Just print off this tweet and send it to the couple.

Brooke’s tweet, which has since been liked over 139,000 times, has prompted messages from people who’ve also received letters from the Obamas. One person got a congratulatory letter back after sending the Obamas the birth announcement of her daughter. A handful of others sent Barack Obama their graduation announcement while he was still in office and received letters back as well. This also isn’t the first time the Obamas responded to a wedding invitation. One couple got a letter from Barack and Michelle in 2014. Another received theirs in May of 2016. Their mailbox must look like if you got a physical invitation for every one of your Facebook friend's life events.

Lest you think every note is just a “Congrats! Love, The Obamas”, the messages do vary depending on the occasion. While each of the notes aren’t entirely personalized, most of the messages are slightly different and tailored to the the event to which they're responding. At the very least, they probably put the two-word birthday message you’ve written in every coworker’s card to shame.

If you’re thinking about adding the Obamas to your guest list, here’s the address where Whitlow sent her wedding invite. Here’s hoping you get to Cha Cha Slide with the former first couple or, at the very least, get a heartfelt letter in return.

Selena Gomez opens up about what she learned from going off-the-grid

selena gomez

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Selena Gomez went off-the-grid for 90 days last October to seek emotional treatment.
  • Gomez opened up about learning how to live without her phone in an interview with "InStyle."
  • The singer reveals that since those 90 days, she feels happier and healthier.
  • Gomez still continues to seek professional help for her mental well-being.

As the most followed person on Instagram (124 million followers and counting), Selena Gomez clearly knows a thing or two about technology. But with a huge audience comes huge pressure, which is likely why the 25-year-old went off the grid (sans phone, sans makeup, and sans connection to most of the world) for 90 days last October to seek emotional treatment and reconnect with herself.

Gomez opened up about the intense experience in the newest issue of InStyle. “I went away for 90 days, and it was the best thing that I ever could’ve done,” she said. “I had no phone, nothing, and I was scared. But it was amazing, and I learned a lot.”

Along with going without technology, the former Disney Channel star also went without doing her hair and participated in equine therapy (emotional health treatment involving horses). She admitted the experience was difficult at first, but soon saw the benefits for herself and others facing mental health challenges.

“I was in the countryside and never did my hair; I took part in equine therapy, which is so beautiful,” she said. “And it was hard, obviously. But I knew what my heart was saying, and I thought, ‘OK, I think this has helped me become stronger for other people.’”

In August, Gomez revealed to "People" that she was stepping away from the spotlight to focus on getting healthy. She said she was experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, and depression as a side effect of suffering from lupus, an autoimmune disease she was diagnosed with in 2015. In October, the singer cancelled her Revival World Tour to seek professional treatment.

Since finishing her 90 days, Gomez says she feels overall happier and healthier, though she admits “there are still days” that are tough, which is why she continues to seek professional support.

“I go to therapy. I believe in that and talking about where you are,” she said. “But I’m in a really, really healthy place.”

As for her relationship with social media, Gomez understands the power of connecting with fans all over the world, but admits that the pressure of millions of critics can put a serious strain on her mental well-being.

“It’s good to be connected, to see things, and to get a sense of what your friends are up to. But it also allows people to think they need to look or be a certain way, she said. “Now it feels more zoomed-in–you have ugly people trying to get negative things from you, and the energy makes you feel bad about yourself. You can’t help it. It’s very hard to find out who you are during all that mess and pressure."

Sure, it’s tough to go without your phone for three months straight. But it’s even tougher to open up about your mental health struggles, especially when you have 124 million people analyzing your every move. And for that, we applaud Selena.

People are calling Gigi Hadid's latest doppelgänger plus-size — and we don't understand why

The INSIDER Summary:

  • People are freaking out over the idea that Dutch model Iza Ijzerman is Gigi Hadid's doppelgänger.
  • Certain media outlets have labeled the model plus-size.
  • Alpine Butterfly Swim re-posted one of the model's photos using hashtags like #curvemodel and #curvesaresexy.
  • The model has never confirmed whether or not she actually considers herself plus-size.

People are freaking out because it’s been discovered that Gigi Hadid has a major doppelgänger: a Netherlands-based model named Iza Ijzerman. While the resemblance is uncanny—both women have blonde hair, blue eyes, and perfectly plump lips—we can’t help but raise an eyebrow at the idea that this Gigi look-alike is plus-size.

A post shared by IZZY (@izaijzerman) on

A post shared by IZZY (@izaijzerman) on

Refinery29 broke the story first, after finding a photo of Ijzerman on the Instagram page of Alpine Butterfly Swim, a swimwear brand that focuses on body-positivity and does use plus-size models. But the swimwear company re-posted Ijzerman’s photo from March to their own account in July, with hashtags like #curvemodel and #curvesaresexy—words that Ijzerman didn’t use in her own caption.

A post shared by IZZY (@izaijzerman) on

Refinery29 didn’t call Ijzerman plus-size in its story, but it appears that other media outlets who picked up the story—including "Elle,""Harper’s Bazaar," and "Elle UK"—took Ijzerman to be plus-size because she was featured on Alpine’s Instagram, and used headlines like “Is This Plus-Size Model Gigi Hadid’s Instagram Twin?”

A post shared by IZZY (@izaijzerman) on

While the fashion world considers any woman who wears a size eight or higher to be plus-size, we’re going to go ahead and guess that most regular women who are size eight wouldn’t necessarily label themselves plus-size.

Whether or not Ijzerman is considered a plus-size model, there’s no denying how stunning she is, and we hope we get to see her kill it on the runway, like Gigi—or maybe even with her?!

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Kim Kardashian is worried about about how she's coming across on Instagram.
  • The reality star revealed she needs more consitency across her Instagram feed, and asked fans how she could step up her game.
  • Fans were quick to respond, suggesting she stick to one filter and focus on showing the real her.

Kim Kardashian plays out most of her life on social media – but she’s started to worry about how she’s coming across.

The reality TV star, 36, has begged fans to suggest ways in which she can make her Instagram page more “consistent”.

Kardashian posted a picture of herself wearing a white off the shoulder dress and told fans that she wants to step up her game.

“I need more consistency on my Insta feed. Should I go back to all one filter? Please help. I really need to step my insta page up,” she wrote.

A post shared by Kim Kardashian West (@kimkardashian) on Aug 2, 2017 at 9:40pm PDT on

Her 102 million followers were quick to suggest pointers, with many begging her not to post any more vintage Polaroid style pictures.

Others suggested she stick to one filter, while some encouraged her to limit her posts to three a week.

One fan said they wanted to see the ‘real’ Kim, writing: “I think that you should add more pics showing the real you. Like your hobbies, things you care about and stuff that makes you laugh. Don't be just a beautiful perfect image, show that you are a human being.”

Another agreed commenting: “Show the real YOU. That's what people want to see (not only on insta). Everyone has something different to show.”

Others praised her “stunning” page and said she doesn’t need to change: “Just do you because at 102 million followers I think it's fair to say whatever you're doing: it's working.”

The post came hours after she was criticised by followers who accused her of dressing her four-year-old daughter in fur.

She was branded “disgusting” and accused of promoting animal cruelty after she posted a picture of North in what appeared to be an oversized fur coat.

Here's the reason why the Queen of England only wears neon outfits

queen elizabeth ii neon outfitsThe INSIDER Summary:

  • It's safe to say that Queen Elizabeth II is a big fan of neon.
  • From fuchsia to turquoise, there isn't a shade the monarch hasn't worn during her reign.
  • Besides having a sense of style, the monarch actually has a bright wardrobe for a pretty sweet reason.
  • According to royal sources, the Queen wants to make sure that the people can see her through the crowds.

Beige is apparently too blasé for the Crown. Queen Elizabeth turned heads (and made headlines) when she wore a bright—no, neon—green outfit to her 90th birthday parade. But that wasn’t the first time she arrived on the scene wearing a vividly hued number. In fact, throughout her 65-year reign the Queen has sported dozens of bold shades, from fuchsia to lemon to royal blue.

So, what’s the true story behind the Queen’s bright wardrobe? It’s actually one of the few fascinating facts about her, royal sources say. (And no, it’s not a fashion statement!)

The real reason for her bright-colored, blocky numbers is actually way more sensible—and touching. According to her daughter-in-law Sophie, Countess of Wessex, the Queen wants to make sure members of the public can catch sight of her through the crowds.

queen elizabeth ii“She needs to stand out for people to be able to say ‘I saw the Queen’,” Sophie said in the documentary "The Queen at 90."“Don’t forget that when she turns up somewhere, the crowds are two, three, four, 10, 15 deep, and someone wants to be able to say they saw a bit of the queen’s hat as she went past.”

Other sources have confirmed the reason behind Queen Elizabeth’s famous fashion choice, as well.

queen elizabeth II“The Queen has always been aware that she needs to stand out from the crowd, and it is for this reason that millinery has always played an important role in her wardrobe,” Caroline de Guitaut, the curator at the Royal Collection Trust, told the "New York Times."

Turns out, the Queen’s famous remark “I have to be seen to be believed” might have been more literal than we initially thought.

While her preference for vivid hues isn’t just a fashion statement, neither is her purse. Learn more about the real reason Queen Elizabeth carries a purse all the time.

This bride had the perfect response to body-shamers who left hateful comments on her wedding photos

Joy Thomas

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Body-shaming trolls left hateful comments on a woman's wedding pictures on Instagram.
  • Vlogger and "plus-size" model Joy Thomas deleted the comments, but she sent a strong message to her haters in an interview.
  • "There are millions of beautiful women in the world who look just like me, and some people just hate to see that," she told Yahoo Style.

When Joy Thomas, a vlogger and "plus-size" model, posted pictures from her wedding on Instagram, her day was almost ruined by body-shaming trolls who left hateful comments on them, according to Yahoo Style.

"Out of all the positive and beautiful responses we received, at one point the negative responses seemed to outweigh the positive ones," she told the website.

Though the negative comments no longer appear on the Instagram photos, according to a screenshot obtained by Yahoo Style, one user sent one of Thomas's followers a private message in which he called the vlogger a "fat b----h."

Rather than dwell on the negativity, Thomas continued to post photos from her wedding and celebrate her marriage.

She looks amazing in her wedding gown, which she accessorized with a pearl choker and statement earrings.

A week ago I became one with the love of my life. So happy I'm on this journey with you baby, and I'm honored to call you my husband. 📸@edrhone

A post shared by Joy Thomas🌻 (@virtuous.joy) on Jul 1, 2017 at 9:18am PDT on

Though she hasn't posted about the comments she received, she had some strong words for the people who shamed her in her interview with Yahoo Style.

"The ignorant people that constantly troll and try to hurt my feelings won’t go anywhere, but I will continue to rise above them," she said.

Thomas has several thousand followers on Instagram and YouTube, and has documented her relationship on social media.

However, this hasn't always been positive for her. Thomas claims to have been targeted by trolls in the past, and she told Yahoo Style that sometimes you just have to block the haters.

Nevertheless, these experiences have given the model and vlogger a renewed sense of self-confidence.

"After realizing I can't please everybody, and no matter what, they would've had something negative to say anyway, I've come to understand that they are unhappy with themselves. Their standard of beauty is unrealistic. There are millions of beautiful women in the world who look just like me, and some people just hate to see that," she said.

One month down. Forever to go.🖤

A post shared by Joy Thomas🌻 (@virtuous.joy) on Jul 30, 2017 at 2:14pm PDT on

She also shared advice for other women being targeted by body-shamers — on the internet and in person.

"I know it's easier said than done, but you are so beautiful and you matter. Forget what the negative people have to say. They're watching you because it's something about you that stands out from the others," she said. "Embrace your flaws, love ALL of you, and walk with your head high knowing you have a purpose."

We can certainly get behind that.

Correction: An earlier version of this story stated that the direct message obtained by Yahoo Style was between Joy Thomas and another Instagram user. However, this exchange was between one of Thomas's followers and another Instagram user. INSIDER updated this story on August 4 to reflect this information.

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Justin Bieber's stylist Karla Welch launched a new T-shirt line inspired by Bieber's love for white tees.
  • The line was originally inspired by Bieber's desire for long white T-shirts — which aren't very common in the marketplace.
  • The collection is a collaboration with Hanes and features seven different styles at $30 each.

Trends come and go but the white T-shirt is forever. Justin Bieber knows this, but finding the right one is more challenging than some may realize. Enter his stylist Karla Welch, who stocked up on Hanes’ basics, took them apart and reassembled them with a custom pattern just for him.

“He was so fearless,” Welch told Vogue. [He said], ‘I want T-shirts that are long,’ and they literally didn’t exist in the marketplace. It was a bit of a nightmare.”

A post shared by x karla (@xkarla) on

A “Purpose” world tour later, Karla is launching her x Karla, her “future vintage” collection of reworked tees with help from the Biebs and inspired by James Dean and other Hollywood cinema icons. Each priced at $30 USD, there are seven different styles and cuts for the choosing: the Crop, Sleeveless Crop, Baby, Crew, Original, Sleeveless and Classic. They get better with wear, wash and time — “You have to commit to this T-shirt.”

Anything Bieber touches turns to fashion gold, so there’s no doubt that the collection will sell out after launching on xKarla.com on August 3.

Here's everything you need to know about which British royals are actually in line for the throne

$

england royal familyThe INSIDER Summary:

  • With so many British royals, it can get confusing as to who may actually take the throne.
  • When Princess Charlotte was born, the entire line of royal succession changed.
  • Prince Charles is next in line to take over the throne.
  • Here's where the rest of the British royals fall in line.

On May 2, 2015, little Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge was born. On that day not only did the world meet the newest, and perhaps most adorable royal, but it also saw the line of royal succession change forever.

The tiny bundle of joy, now 2, is the fourth person in line to take over the throne. But who else is still in the mix to lead the kingdom? Keep scrolling to find out the top 10 people who are in the real-life game of thrones.

Prince Charles

Prince Charles is the Queen’s first-born son and is next in line to take over the throne. As The Telegraph noted, Charles already holds the record for the longest-serving heir apparent in British history. At the ripe old age of 68, Charles will also be the oldest person to be crowned in British history when the time comes.

Prince William

Prince William currently sits as third in line to the throne and will one day take over as king, following his father, the Prince of Wales. He will then be followed in line by his own son, Prince George.

Prince George

Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge's first-born son will one day be King George VII. As The Telegraph rather morbidly noted, the birth of Prince George means that anyone “alive today is unlikely to see another queen on the throne in their lifetime once Elizabeth II's reign is over.”
