16 high-paying jobs for people who hate people

shy phone woman text call alone

Not everybody is a people person.

If this sounds like you, then your best approach for finding a job could be searching for work where people skills aren't all that necessary.

To find these jobs, we averaged data from the Occupational Information Network, or O*NET, a US Department of Labor database full of detailed information on more than 900 occupations.

O*NET rates each occupation on a scale from zero to 100 on how much a job requires workers to be in contact with others and how much a job requires workers to be pleasant with others. We averaged these ratings to find which jobs had the lowest overall scores.

While we're not suggesting that people who hold these positions are all standoffish, the following jobs pay on average more than $55,000 a year according to O*NET, have an average required sociability score of 65 or less, and therefore require minimal good-natured interaction with others:

John Legend on Chrissy Teigen's struggle with alcohol: 'I just want to support her'

Chrissy Teigen and John LegendThe INSIDER Summary:

  • John Legend spoke candidly about his wife Chrissy Teigen's struggle with alcohol in a recent interview with "Elle."
  • Legend said that he and Teigen are honest with each other about everything, including her drinking.
  • His main focus is supporting her in whatever she sets her mind on.

Just over a week after Chrissy Teigen opened up about her struggles with drinking too much alcohol and her desire to cut back, her husband, John Legend, is weighing in. And because he's half of one of the most candid couples on the internet, he was just as open about it as Teigen was.

In a Q&A with "Elle," Legend was asked this question: "In [a recent] interview, Chrissy revealed that she's made a conscious decision to cut back on drinking. Did you and Chrissy have a discussion when she felt that her drinking was getting out of hand? What was that conversation like?"

Legend's answer? That he and Teigen are honest with each other about everything, including her drinking.

"We're always honest with each other, so we discuss everything that's on our minds," he said. "When she was thinking about how she wanted to drink less, we talked about it. I just want to support her. I want her to be happy and to live the fullest, most awesome life she can, and I want us to do it together. Whenever she sets her mind to anything, I always tell her, 'I want to support you and help you do it.'"

In the interview with Teigen that "Elle" referenced, she explained to Cosmopolitan that a lot of her struggles with alcohol stemmed from award shows, where she would have a glass of wine while getting her hair and makeup done, a glass during dinner and then several more glasses during the event. The availability of alcohol played a part too.

"Everything is there, always. I don't know how to go to an award show and not drink," she said.

Sounds like Teigen and Legend are as open with their fans as they are with each other.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Spider-Man swooped in to save the day at a Houston shelter.

A man dressed as the crime-fighting spider dropped by George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston to bring a bit of joy to the thousands of evacuees stranded there. He spent time talking with each child, letting them pick out a sticker, and sealing the deal with a high-five.

People were touched by Spider-Man's generosity, devoting his time and attention to kids who aren't sure if they have homes to return to.

As for the identity of the man beneath the mask, he simply goes by "Peter Parker."

"The response to my visit to George R. Brown has been bigger than I could've ever imagined!" he wrote on Instagram. "I sincerely hope that this draws more attention to the humanity of this situation. Kim Kardashian Harper's Bazaar Arabia

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Kim Kardashian West paid homage to Cher on the cover of Harper's Bazaar Arabia's September issue.
  • Kardashian West often refers to Cher as her "Armenian queen."
  • People are freaking out over the cover.
  • Kardashian West also paid homage to First Lady Jackie Kennedy on the September issue of Interview magazine.

It's officially September issue season for magazines. This year, Kim Kardashian West not only channeled First Lady Jackie Kennedy on the cover of Interview, but also Cher on the cover of Harper's Bazaar Arabia.

In the cover shot, Kardashian West is pictured in a fringed metallic caftan with her long hair splayed across her shoulders.

Kardashian West's pose and "no-makeup" makeup undoubtedly pay homage to Cher. Kardashian West has called the pop sensation her "Armenian queen" on more than one occasion in reference to their shared heritage.

For another photo, Kardashian West replicated one of Cher's popular looks by wearing a simple blouse with jeans from her sister Khloe's Good American line. Her third outfit was an embellished bodysuit with fringes.

The reality TV star shared pictures from the shoot on Twitter.

This isn't the star's first time expressing her love of Cher. Back in May, Kardashian West shared nine pictures of  Cher on Instagram in honor of the singer's birthday.

Happy Birthday to my fashion icon Armenian Queen Cher!

A post shared by Kim Kardashian West (@kimkardashian) on May 20, 2017 at 11:22am PDT on

As expected, Twitter users had mixed reactions to the shoot.

Some saw the resemblance clearly.

However, not everyone loves this shoot. Some people accused Kardashian West of being unoriginal.

Interestingly enough, Cher, who is active on Twitter, has not addressed the Harper's Bazaar shoot.

Kardashian West has not responded to the accusations that she copied Cher, but it's pretty clear that she intended to pay homage to the singer.

Kate Middleton floral dressThe INSIDER Summary:

  • Kate Middleton wore a floral Prada dress while paying tribute at Princess Diana's memorial garden in London.
  • The outfit was very similar to the dress Diana wore for her wedding rehearsal with Prince Charles in 1981.
  • This is only one of numerous occasions where Kate has channeled Diana's iconic style.

Twenty years after her tragic death, Kate Middleton, Prince William and Prince Harry visited Princess Diana‘s memorial garden in London on August 30. Kate wore a floral Prada dress that had long sleeves and hit her just below the knee. The dress was a clear nod to Diana, the fashion icon, who wore a very similar floral style back in 1981, for her wedding rehearsal to Prince Charles at St. Paul’s Cathedral. The sleeves, neckline and length are almost identical, though the colors vary slightly. It’s the perfect way to honor Diana without being too obvious.

Both women wore nude shoes as well — Diana wore flats, while Kate opted for nude heels. Kate has channeled Diana many times in the past. One famous occasion was when she wore polka dots after the birth of her first child, just like Di did as she introduced Prince William to the world. Kate has also worn Diana’s favorite tiara to important state events. And of course, Kate wears Diana’s sapphire and diamond engagement ring.

Kate Middleton floral dressDiana was known for her amazing fashion, just like Kate has become a style icon in her own right. See 30 of Diana’s most famous dresses right here. William recently opened up about Diana’s death to GQ, revealing, "I would love her to have met Catherine and to have seen the children grow up. The INSIDER Summary:

  • Prince Harry stuck his tongue out at photographers when he was a kid.
  • Photographers had provoked him by sticking out their own tongues.
  • Newspapers printed that he was a rude kid, and Princess Diana was furious.

At the height of her fame, Princess Diana was constantly hounded by the paparazzi. Ultimately, photographers played a part in her untimely death as they chased her car down and continued photographing her after it crashed

But it was when the press interfered with her children's lives that they really got to her. Princess Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, recalled one particular run-in with photographers that left her livid.

prince harry young

"I remember she was furious when she'd just taken Harry to school. He was very small, four or five," he said. "The English papers had taken pictures of him sticking his tongue out and said what a cheeky boy he was. But the photographers had been sticking their tongues out at Harry. And what four or five-year-old boy doesn't stick his tongue out back if an adult's doing that to them? It was the sheer dishonesty of it, that they were trying to say he was this impossibly rude kid whereas they'd actually provoked him on purpose. Diana felt furious about that."

For his part, Prince Harry seems to have turned out all right. But it couldn't have been easy growing up under so much scrutiny.

princess diana shaking hands aids patient 1987

The INSIDER Summary:

  • In 1987, Princess Diana of Wales visited AIDS patients at a hospital in London.
  • A famous photograph shows her shaking a patient's hand without wearing gloves.
  • The gesture challenged the once-common (but incorrect) belief that HIV or AIDS could be transmitted by touch.
  • The moment is emblematic of Diana's unwavering compassion for other people.

Today marks 20 years since the death of Princess Diana — a woman who's remembered as a style icon, loving mother, unconventional royal, and champion of charitable causes.

One of her finest humanitarian moments took place in a single instant on April 19, 1987.

That day, Diana arrived at London Middlesex Hospital to open the UK's first unit dedicated to treating people with HIV and AIDS, the BBC reported.

Then, she did something that history would remember forever: She shook the hand of an AIDS patient without wearing gloves.

Today it may not seem remarkable, since we know that HIV — the virus that can lead to AIDS — can't be transmitted by handshakes. But things were very different just a few decades ago.

princess diana with aids patient

AIDS was first identified back in the early 1980s. By 1983, scientists at the CDC had already concluded that the disease could not be transmitted through casual contact, but the public had become terrified. Reports from that era tell heartbreaking stories of AIDS patients — even children — who were shunned and stigmatized because of the disease. In 1985, the Los Angeles Times conducted a poll and found that 50% of respondents favored quarantining people with AIDS.

When she shook the hand of an unidentified AIDS patient, Diana used her public platform to challenge that irrational fear.

princess diana HIV positive child

"If a royal was allowed to go in shake a patient's hands, somebody at the bus stop or the supermarket could do the same," a nurse who witnessed Diana's hospital visit once told the BBC. "That really educated people."

Diana didn't get the nickname "the people's princess" by accident: In her life she was a president or patron of more than 100 different charities working across a range of important issues. Her humanitarian work didn't begin or end with that handshake.

But in that moment, Diana showed the depth of her compassion for others. And she did it in a way that speeches and PSAs and TV interviews never could: She led by example.

How this 'Broad City' star went from comedy to playing the King Joffrey of Netflix's 'Narcos'

Arturo Castro Narcos season 3

Season three of "Narcos," which follows the rise of the Cali Cartel, premieres on Netflix Friday. And you might recognize one of its new villains from Comedy Central's "Broad City," playing a very different role.

Arturo Castro, the Guatemalan actor who plays Ilana's roommate Jaimé on "Broad City" (season four out September 13), recently spoke to Business Insider about how that role led to "Narcos" (one of his favorite shows). He also spoke about the challenge of finding roles that represent Latinos in an authentic way, which he's trying to do with his Comedy Central pilot, "Alternatino."

Note: This interview has been edited for clarity.

Carrie Wittmer: How has "Broad City" changed your career so far? Has it gotten you more into comedy?

Arturo Castro: I stumbled into comedy. I was always drawn to it, but my background is mostly in dramatic theater. Abbi [Jacobson] and Ilana [Glazer] come from a long line of of improvisers, and they're very involved in the UCB community and I got to work on a show that Amy Poehler's involved in. I started to see comedy and understand comedy in different ways on set every day. I thought how cool it was for them [Jacobson and Glazer] to have created a career for themselves by creating their own show, and so I'm emulating that by creating my own show. So they've been my mentors throughout that process. And here we are, shooting a pilot.

Wittmer: So "Broad City" inspired you to make your own comedy series?

Castro: Definitely. If you have a voice that you don't feel is represented very specifically, then it's sort of your responsibility to create and amplify that voice. And I think comedy is a great way to do that. And somewhere along the way, "Narcos" and "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk" happened. It's been a crazy year.

Wittmer: Comedy is usually pretty dominated by white men. "Broad City" came in and it has two female leads and diverse characters, and now you're off doing your own stuff. Do you feel a responsibility to have your own voice out there?

Castro: Very much so. I think there's a certain narrative out there about what a Latino is. There's a certain negative connotation, especially in the political realm about what it means to be Latin. And I think it's completely wrong. It's definitely a responsibility. I created the show ["Alternatino"] because I realized that I have friends from all over the world. And our one common denominator is what we laugh at. There's so many shows about what makes us different, but not a lot of shows about what makes us the same. I fully intend to normalize what it means to be Latin nowadays. So yeah, there's a huge responsibility. I also just want to make people laugh.

Wittmer: Have you struggled finding roles that were a good representation of yourself and the Latino community?

Castro:  After "Broad City" the doors opened to me more. I think people just gave me a chance a little more to expand on what I wanted to do. But it's a tricky question. I played a lot of immigrant roles when I started out. And I still would. If something's well-written I'll do it, and I'll do it responsibly. For example, I was on "The Good Wife." The character's name is Dishwasher Juan. I swear to God. You can see it on my IMDB. I'm like, "You can't just call him Juan?" Definitely post-"Broad City," things have been great. I've been able to pick more roles that speak to me more than before I was on the show. I was a huge fan of "Narcos" for two seasons before I got on it.

Arturo Castro

Wittmer: What's your role on "Narcos" like? Has your experience in comedy informed you as a dramatic actor?

Castro: Nothing prepared me to play a ruthless drug dealer like Jaime. [Laughs]. The rough and tumble world of New York comedy. The character's name [on "Narcos"] is David Rodriguez. And he's the son of one of the cartel bosses. He's sort of like the Joffrey from "Game of Thrones" of this season. He's trying to protect the throne. "Narcos" and "Broad City" come out at the same time, so if you're watching both you're going to be very confused as to who I am. My voice right now sounds completely different than either of those characters, really. I'm just going through an identity crisis, I guess. [Laughs]

Wittmer: Makes sense.

Castro: I'm joking! So I get down there, and my contract was actually extended. The showrunners and the writers liked the work they started seeing. I really have to tell you this: there's something about comedic actors playing a character that's intimidating that can be a disturbing in a really good way. Because if you can find humor in really dark situations, it kind of puts everybody else off their feet, you know? So I think David, my character, definitely uses his own sardonic sort of humor to make the people he wants to intimidate very uncomfortable. I was shooting that, and then I would fly back and forth to New York to shoot "Broad City." And sometimes on the plane I had to decompress. Just remind yourself of who you are, where you're from. It's funny because there'd be a really dramatic scene in "Narcos" and I would be standing with my hand on my hip, just be distracted and Jaimé would sort of come out in my personality. And the director would be like, "Dude, you're doing Jaimé." And I was like "Sorry sorry sorry!" It was a surreal and wonderful experience.

Broad City

Wittmer: What are the sets on a dramatic, big-budget set like "Narcos" compared to "Broad City?"

Castro: Huge. Oh my God. They're so big. I've been on big movie sets before, but this is crazy. Definitely because of the budget that they're working with, that goes a long way in Colombia where things are a little less expensive than if you're shooting in the middle of New York City. On "Narcos," we have a huge club scene. We have like 400 extras and there's these big action sequences. I couldn't believe it. At some point it struck me, the reality of it. When we were kids we used to play these games like cops and robbers and here we are, just bigger kids with bigger toys doing the exact same thing. Obviously on a comedic set, everyone who works on "Broad City" (not myself) is a comedic genius and has been honing their craft for years. And now I got to see it on the dramatic side.

Wittmer: You compared your character on "Narcos" to King Joffrey. Do you think people will hate your character as much as they hate Joffrey? He is the worst.

Castro: Here's my take on that: I'm not trying to compare myself to that kid in the scope of it. But I think people will certainly disagree with my character's choices. What I'm hoping for is that they see that every brutal act he commits is out of loyalty to his father. Basically, he just wants his father to be protected. So if you can see it from the point of view that his loyalty never wavers, you can't disagree with his choices. With Joffrey, he just likes causing pain. My character, it's not that he likes causing pain. He sees people either as obstacles or facilitators to what he wants to achieve. If they're an obstacle, you just get rid of it. So it's a very mathematical thing. I'm sure some people are gonna be like,"'Jaimé, no! Stop it! What are you doing?!" There's definitely some things I'm gonna have to tell my mom to skip over. But do I think people will hate him? I hope not. I hope they're scared of him, but I hope they don't hate him.

Wittmer: Was it hard going back and forth between Jaimé, one of the most likable characters on television to this brutal villain?

Castro:  What you won't see on "Narcos" is that most of the time when my character does something particularly ruthless, when we cut, we would really laugh out loud. Because it's a moment of so much tension to the point where my producer was like, "Are you actually a psychopath?" I was like, "No! I'm just so excited." It wasn't hard in the sense of, "Oh, what are people gonna think?" But when you get back to your hotel room or your trailer or whatever, you do need to check in with yourself and be like, "It's make believe. It's all just make believe, let it go." When somebody's pretending that they're suffering right in front of you, your body doesn't know that. But you're still hearing somebody scream in deep pain and you know that you're causing it. I definitely have to shake off, as opposed to when I'm doing Jaimé, when what you hear is mostly laughter. So there's definitely something you have to shake off at the end of the day.

Wittmer: Is playing a bad guy as much fun as playing Jaimé?

Castro: It is so fun to play a bad guy. It is so much fun. If my character walks into the room and by the time he walks out everybody in the room looks like they want to kill him, I've done my job right. Being the mean girl of "Narcos" was really fun. I took my inspiration from Lindsay Lohan, as I do everything.

The INSIDER Summary:

  • John Legend opened up about he and Chrissy Teigen's relationship and experience with in vitro fertilization.
  • He said he feels lucky to live in a time where IVF is possible.
  • Legend also said that if you can make it through having a child, "you know you can make it through anything."

It's not every day we hear dudes diving into discussions about fertility, including in vitro fertilization. So it was refreshing to hear John Legend's thoughtful, candid take on the process— and on his 4-year marriage to Chrissy Teigen.

Recently, the singer spoke with "Cosmopolitan" about the challenges he and Teigen have encountered during their IVF journey. Said adventure has happily has resulted in their now-16-month-old daughter, Luna, who frequents both her parents' social media accounts regularly (and adorably). Of course, not everyone who undergoes IVF is as lucky.

A post shared by John Legend (@johnlegend) on

Legend — a Grammy and an Oscar winner — said that "having a baby is a big challenge for a couple, and going through that together strengthens your bond, because if you make it through [having a child], you know you can make it through anything."

A post shared by John Legend (@johnlegend) on

Legend said he and Teigen are hoping to conceive more kids via IVF — and he feels fortunate to be living in a time when this is an option for their family. “I think it’s especially difficult when you can’t conceive naturally. You want to feel like everything’s working properly and want everything to be perfect, but sometimes it’s not. I wouldn’t say we can’t conceive naturally, but I would say that it’s enough of a challenge where it felt like we needed help," Legend continued. "We’re lucky that we’re living in an age where we can conceive in other ways. [IVF] brought us Luna and hopefully, it will bring us a few more awesome kids, too.”

Teigen talked to "People" last year about their decision to have a girl first. “I’ve made this decision. Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo,” Teigen explained. “I picked her and was like, ‘Let’s put in the girl.’”

But the couple is planning on a boy too.

Teigen added, “A boy will come along. We’ll get there too, so it’s not like we really have to pick.”

Legend also told "Cosmopolitan" that he's got Teigen's back, no matter what. Recently, Teigen decided she needed to cut back on her alcohol consumption— and Legend couldn't have been more supportive.

“We discuss everything that’s on our minds. When she was thinking about how she wanted to drink less, we talked about it,” Legend said. "I want her to be happy and to live the fullest, most awesome life she can, and I want us to do it together. Whenever she sets her mind to anything, I always tell her, ‘I want to support you and help you do it.’”

One thing never seems to change. These two are #CoupleGoals all the way, all the time. We're grateful to them for speaking so openly — as a united, loving team — about their struggles (with infertility and everything else).

John Legend admits he doesn't like being called the 'perfect spouse'

The INSIDER Summary:

  • John Legend admits that being dubbed as "relationship goals" can be damaging.
  • Legend revealed how an episode of "Insecure" labeled him the "perfect spouse," and he doesn't want them.
  • The singer admits that no one meets the definition of "perfect" spouse or the "perfect couple."

It seems like John Legend and Chrissy Teigen get increasingly cute with every Instagram post. Now, with their daughter, Luna Legend, in the picture, they've only gotten more adorable. Fans are always quick to applaud the couple for being "relationship goals," and from the outside, it certainly seems that way. But from Legend's perspective, that kind of image can be damaging.

Chrissy Teigen got candid in an interview with "Cosmopolitan," admitting that she's cut back on her drinking. So, when John Legend was asked his perspective by the same magazine, he delivered what could be seen as the perfect response.

"I just want to support her," he replied. "I want her to be happy and to live the fullest, most awesome life she can, and I want us to do it together. Whenever she sets her mind to anything, I always tell her, “I want to support you and help you do it.”

The "aw's" practically write themselves. But later in the interview, Legend discussed how it's hard for him to be known as a perfect husband.

The interviewer asked Legend about how he felt about a joke made on "Insecure." A character describes a man who only commits to one woman as a John Legend. The singer doesn't mind the description, but worries about people seeing him as the end goal for relationships.

"I don’t want to present myself as the “perfect spouse” and I don’t want to present our relationship as the “perfect relationship” because I don’t think anybody meets that definition," he explains. "I am devoted to Chrissy. And when I write about [my commitment to her], it’s me being authentic."

Then, he added: "I think it should be cool to be a good partner, a good spouse, a good father, and/or a good parent. If I’m one of the people who helps make that cooler, I think that’s great."

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are undeniably cute together and those "relationship goals" comments under their Instagram posts aren't lying. But fans should keep in mind that no relationship can ever be perfect. The best you can do is be good to your partner.

princess mako engaged

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Japan's Princess Mako is engaged to law clerk Kei Komuro.
  • They met in university and have been dating for five years.
  • He's a commoner, so she has to give up her royal title to marry him.
  • She doesn't seem to mind.

The first thing Princess Mako of Japan noticed about law clerk Kei Komuro was his "bright smile."

The two met as students at International Christian University in Tokyo and have been dating for five years. According to People, Komuro popped the question back in 2013.

The couple announced their engagment in May of this year, but the details are only just reaching the public after a press conference on Sunday.

After a traditional ritual solidifying their engagement called Nosai no Gi in which the groom presents gifts, they are expected to marry in the fall of 2018.

Princess Mako is the eldest daughter of Prince Akishino, second in line to the Chrysanthemum throne, and Princess Kiko. Her 83-year-old grandfather, Emperor Akihito, is expected to abdicate next year and be succeeded by her uncle, Crown Prince Naruhito.

Women do not succeed the throne in Japan according to Imperial Household Law, so the 25-year-old princess will lose her royal title upon marrying a commoner. This is the eighth time a woman in Japan's royal family has given up her title to marry since World War II.

When she's no longer a princess, Mako will continue her work as a museum researcher while pursuing her doctorate.

Judging by her own bright smile at the press conference, she doesn't seem to mind too much.

zayn malik

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Zayn Malik just appeared on Instagram with a completely bald head.
  • The photo was taken and posted by his mother, Trish Malik and also features girlfriend Gigi Hadid.
  • It's unclear whether Malik is wearing a skull cap or if it's the real deal.

Add another member to the Hollywood shaved head club! Former boy bander Zayn Malik, once known for his flowing black (or blonde, depending), locks, appears to have shaved his head completely (gasp!) bald.

One week after the vocalist debuted a short buzz cut over on his own Instagram page, the singer has been snapped without a stitch of hair atop his famous dome. The snap was taken by none other than the “Dusk ‘Til Dawn” singer’s mother, Trish Malik, and also features girlfriend Gigi Hadid.

Hadid, who is half-Palestinian, and her mother Yolanda Hadid, have reportedly been celebrating the Muslim “Sacrifice Feast” of Eid el-Adha with the Maliks. Just yesterday, in fact, the elder of the two famous women posted her own shot of the group (“<3 Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating…”) in which the 24-year-old was sporting a *very* different look.

While some fans are remain skeptical, the ex One Directioner’s head appears now smooth as can be, and TBH, we’re kind of shook. We’re not the only ones: Twitter is also in a tizzy over the drastic change in the young crooner’s appearance.

While it’s possible it’s a skull cap, as several fans have suggested (Gigi DID pull off a pretty great faux pixie prank earlier this year), there doesn’t appear to be much room for one on that hairline, leading us to believe this might actually be the real deal.

Welcome to Zayn 2.0?

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Selena Gomez posted an Instagram pic of her date night with The Weeknd.
  • The photo shows Gomez smiling at the camera while The Weeknd sits next to her.
  • The couple has also been spotted on various outings in New York City this past weekend.

Selena Gomez, 25, and The Weeknd, 27, are picture perfect! Sel took to Instagram on Sept. 4, where she posted the cutest photo of the couple on a romantic date night. The Weeknd looked away from the camera, while Sel, on the other hand, peered right into the lens with an adorable smile on her face. And, she’s never looked happier. The Weeknd, with his arm around Sel, appeared serious in a black tee with a dark, button-up on. A smiling Sel looked casual with her hair up, and she rocked large hoop earrings and a printed tee. The two lovebirds appeared to be alone, however, only one side of the table was caught in the shot. See the full image below!

A post shared by Selena Gomez (@selenagomez) on

The musical duo’s new photo came after they were photographed on numerous recent outings this past weekend. They were spotted holding hands in New York City on multiple occasions. During one of their days out, the pair dressed alike in all black ensembles, as they made their way through the city streets. Then, Sel and her man cuddled on an ice cream date, before they spent some time playing with puppies! How cute?

Sel and The Weeknd’s multiple sightings followed after they both skipped the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 27. The Weeknd was set to perform at the big show, when he suddenly opted out at the last second for reasons unknown at this time. The couple’s Labor Day weekend also came after Sel’s Instagram account was viciously hacked on Aug. 28. Her account started to post naked photos of her ex, Justin Bieber, 23, with negative captions that poked fun at this private parts. The issue was soon resolved and the photos were removed from her account. Phew!

While the identity of Sel’s Instagram hacker may be unknown, what isn’t a mystery is how she and her man feel about one another. It’s quite obvious by her most recent snap [above] and their weekend in NYC, that the singers are very much in love! And, it’s been a summer of love for Sel and The Weeknd, who were first spotted out together in Jan. 2017.

In the beginning of the year — after Sel’s 90-day stint in a Tennessee facility to seek help for issues with her lupus diagnosis — Sel and The Weeknd were photographed all over each other after a cute dinner date in Santa Monica, CA. And, they’ve been inseparable ever since!

prince harryThe INSIDER Summary:

  • The royal family announced that Kate Middleton is pregnant again.
  • When asked his feelings on the news, Prince Harry responded that he is “very happy for them.”
  • He revealed that the prospect of being an uncle again is "fantastic" and "great."
  • Harry also clarified that Kate Middleton is doing "okay" given the difficulties she faces with her pregnancy.

Kate Middleton’s third pregnancy news has all but taken over, with Twitter blowing up with reactions to the joyful announcement. Someone else also has something to say about the impending new Royal, and he just so happens to be a *very* prominent member of the Royal family: one Prince Harry himself.

The soon-to-be uncle thrice over stopped to chat with a reporter for The Daily Express to express his own sentiments on the couple’s big reveal.

“How do you feel about the news you’re about to be an uncle again?” she inquires, to which he gives a thumbs up before saying, “Fantastic. Great. Very happy for them.”

Considering that the 32-year-old seems to be the chilliest member of the bunch, we’ve no doubt that his new little niece or nephew is in for a treat having him for an uncle.

While he admits he hasn’t seen his sister-in-law in a while, he also assures the reporter that he’s sure “She’s okay,” a fact Middleton herself seems to have confirmed in a now-viral video from her recent visit to Poland that many now believe may have prematurely given away her big baby bombshell.

In it, the mommy-to-be is seen reacting to a high-tech toy for newborns by saying, “We’ll just have to have more babies!”

Eeee!

We can’t wait to see the family altogether following the little one’s birth!

Paris Jackson got a new tattoo on her chest — and it looks incredibly painful

Paris Jackson

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Paris Jackson just got another tattoo.
  • Her latest ink features the seven chakras, which are defined as "the centers in our bodies in which energy flows through."
  • Located down her sternum, the multicolored tattoo looks painful.
  • She shared the news in an Instagram photo with over 125,000 likes at the time of this post.
  • It's believed that the star has over 50 tattoos in total.

Many people get tattoos to make a powerful statement in a permanent way. Paris Jackson is no exception.

Over the Labor Day Weekend, the 19-year-old took to Instagram on September 3 to debut her latest ink with fans: a multicolored tattoo that starts from her sternum and ends above her navel.

The tattoo is dedicated to Eastern spiritual traditions, according to Elle, and features the seven chakras. Mind Body Green defines chakras as "the centers in our bodies in which energy flows through." Each chakra has an assigned color that follows the colors of the rainbow, which is thought to help energy travel from the top of the head to the base of the spine.

Jackson originally shared her latest tattoo in a series of posts on her Instagram story, E! News reported. One of the photos showed her covered in bandages with the caption: "secreting blood n [sic] plasma everywhere."

With this recent addition, it's believed that the star now has well over 50 tattoos. In an interview with Rolling Stone in January, Jackson mentioned that nine of them are devoted to her late father Michael Jackson.

Prior to getting her chakra tattoo, People reported in July that Jackson and her godfather, actor Macaulay Culkin, got matching tattoos of tiny spoons on their arms. Apparently, the spoons symbolize an inside joke shared between the two of them.

In June 2016, Jackson explained her love of tattoos as "art" on Instagram.

the craftsmanship of tattoos will always be a controversy. some people like them, some people absolutely hate them. i appreciate art, i always have. especially when that art means something to me. today i can look at my inner forearms and see art that has meaning for me, i don't see a dark past anymore. my scars and past of self-hatred have been covered by loving marks, creativity, ingenuity.. and depth. sure i will always carry my past with me, but i see ink as a way of changing for the better, always improving. they represent strength for me. i look back at my old self and then i look in the mirror, and i see a fighter looking back at me. i'll always keep fighting, and encouraging others to stay strong. we all go through hell every now and then but it makes us the warriors of love we were meant to be. so to anyone struggling, it gets better. you're not alone.

"The craftsmanship of tattoos will always be a controversy. some people like them, some people absolutely hate them. i appreciate art, i always have. especially when that art means something to me," she wrote.

Commenting on how others may disagree with tattoos, Jackson added that her ink has helped her heal. "Today i can look at my inner forearms and see art that has meaning for me, i don't see a dark past anymore. my scars and past of self-hatred have been covered by loving marks, creativity, ingenuity.. and depth," she wrote. "Sure i will always carry my past with me, but i see ink as a way of changing for the better, always improving. they represent strength for me."

Tattoos aren't the only form of expression Jackson has adopted on Instagram. The star has openly posted photos of her body hair as a way to challenge conventional beauty standards. Moreover, Jackson routinely shares her opinions on Twitter where she has proven that unshaven legs and armpits are the least of her concerns.

While some of her fans aren't in support, many of them agree with Jackson's au naturel lifestyle and have defended her against the backlash.

Here's the full caption of Jackson's Instagram photo:

Beyonce Pregnant

The INSIDER Summary:

  • The University of Copenhagen is now offering a class titled "Beyoncé, Gender and Race."
  • It will focus on the singer's impact on gender, sexuality and race by analysis of her work.
  • The class has already reached maximum registration levels.

Hold up.

You might want to think about going back to college. Students at the University of Copenhagen now have the honor of studying the one and only Beyoncé as part of their curriculum.

The Department of Arts and Cultural Studies class, titled “Beyoncé, Gender and Race,” already has 75 students registered for the upcoming semester, according to local news outlet TV2.

Professor Erik Steinskog, who is teaching the class, says it will focus on the singer’s impact on on gender, sexuality and race by analysis of her work: “One of the goals [of the class] is to introduce black feminist thought, which is not well known in Scandinavia. We want to explore the kind of entity feminism is,” he told TV2.

He said the class will be taught using similar methods classes use to teach literature or classical music.

After all, she’s Queen B. Her art is the art of the ages. We can only hope it will be around for archaeologists to find.

Steinskog himself is a self-professed member of the Beyhive. He told TV2, “It is hard not to be impressed. She is extremely good at what she does.”

Looks like people are just crazy in love with this class.

Natalie Portman

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Natalie Portman revealed how she keeps her beauty routine as simple as possible.
  • She said she usually forgoes makeup, but stays loyal to Dior on days that she's working.
  • The actress also talked about her love for the app Priv, which she uses to book at-home mani-pedis.

When you’re dealing with a new babe, as Natalie Portman is, it can be difficult to keep up on your regular beauty routine. Who has time to head to the nail salon when there’s feedings and dirty diapers to attend to? Luckily, as the mommy of two recently revealed to Harper’s Bazaar, there’s an app for that.

Speaking with the outlet about her daily routine, which she says begins around 7am when little Amalia needs a changing, she explained what how she handles her daily maintenance. “My morning routine is basic, I put on sunscreen, which I wear every day, and deodorant. And I brush my teeth. If I wash my hair, I use Christophe Robin [Delicate Volumizing Shampoo with rose extracts] ($38) and conditioner ($43). “It’s like a dream — they make my shower really wonderful. My hair is naturally curly, so I’ll pull it back in a bun or ponytail or just let it be natural.”

As for makeup, the Oscar-winner says she usually forgoes it, using only tinted sunscreen except for the days she has meetings, in which case she stays loyal to the brand she’s been a long-time ambassador for, using Dior concealer and mascara. Depending on the day, she finishes off her look with a swipe of either Dior Rouge Lipstick in a Grége nude ($35) or a bold red hue.

She’s got several other tricks up her sleeve when it comes to long-term care. “I don’t do much beauty maintenance, and I find it tricky right now having a small baby,” she admitted. Still, she hasn’t totally ditched the upkeep, using beauty app Priv to book in-home touch-ups. “I’ve been using the beauty app Priv every once in a while to schedule mani-pedis at the house, which has been nice. I have an amazing acupuncturist and masseuse for muscle-tension relief. I do both once every two weeks, and it keeps me feeling good.”

When it comes to her mane, Portman says she’s giving her locks a much-needed break. “I get my hair done so much for work that if I need a haircut I’ll usually ask the hairdresser who’s working with me for a trim,” she shares. “I’ve colored my hair in the past, but right now it’s completely natural.”

biorderma

Around 11pm (“I’m always in bed by midnight, no matter what”), when the x actress is ready for bed, she always takes care to remove her makeup, minimal or otherwise. “I always remove my makeup before bed. I use Bioderma makeup remover ($17) and Joëlle Ciocco secret clear/foaming cleansing care ($98), then I put on rose oil or a moisturizing mask that I got from a French pharmacy. There’s a British brand I liked called Pai that has a great eye cream.”

That’s it! Pretty simple, no? Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’ll just be booking our next appointment with Priv…
