We figured that since he seems to enjoy taking his clothes off in Las Vegas, why not do it on stage at the #1 Male Revue in the World."

Tom Cruise To Pay $400K Per Year To Katie Holmes In Divorce Settlement

Katie HolmesKatie Holmes better bank on a big Hollywood comeback.

The actress will be receiving $400,000 in annual child support from Tom Cruise, according to TMZ.

Break that down and it's $33,333 per month.

We knew Holmes wouldn't receive a large payout considering the prenup she signed when marrying the "Mission Impossible" star, who is reportedly worth $250 million

In addition to Cruise paying the sum of $400,000 until Suri turns 18 he will also pay the majority of his daughter's expenses including medical and dental insurance, extra-curricular activities and education.

This comes after the couple's divorce case concluded Monday.

Holmes filed for divorce from Cruise in June, blindsiding the actor, citing irreconcilable differences as reason.

Since splitting from Cruise, Holmes has set her eyes on returning to Broadway in a new play, "Dead Accounts," a few new film projects including "Molly," a film Holmes co-wrote, and "Responsible Adults." Holmes has also been working on a fashion line for New York Fashion Week

Judge Declares Director Barry Sonnenfeld Owes His Former Agency $325K For 'Men In Black 3"

Barry-Sonnenfeld

Director Barry Sonnenfeld owes his former agency, United Talent Agency (UTA), $325,000—its cut of his fee on his last film "Men in Black 3," reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Despite the fact that he left the agency, arbitration earlier this year determined Sonnenfeld owed UTA its share of his compensation for the film.

UTA brokered the deal for Sonnenfeld to direct the original "Men in Black" back in 1995 for a fee of $3.25 million, with UTA receiving a 10 percent commission. Sonnenfeld left the agency for Creative Artists Agency (CAA) shortly after.

When Sonnenfeld agreed to direct "Men in Black 2," CAA brokered him a $20 million fee, but he still had to pay UTA the same 10 percent of the original deal, $325,000.

With "Men in Black 3," U.S District Court Judge S. James Otero ordered Sonnenfeld again pay UTA 10 percent on $3.25 million of his $7 million directing fee.

Sonnenfeld argued that the deal brokered on "MiB3" was "from scratch" since Columbia Pictures looked into hiring other directors for the job, but back in March arbitrator Howard Weitzman determined Sonnenfeld still owed his former agency.

Despite Sonnenfeld's disagreement, Otero held up Weitzman's decision.

"Men in Black 3" stars Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, and Josh Brolin. The pic debuted over Memorial Day weekend and has since grossed over $621 million worldwide.

Former MTV VP Sues Network For Sexual Discrimination

$

Snooki Jersey SHore MTVFormer MTV VP Andrea Fair is suing her former employer, MTV, and parent company Viacom for sexual discrimination, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Fair is now demanding lost wages and compensatory damages.

Fair claims that the network "maintained a double standard and ignored inappropriate behavior but punished her," according to the suit.

Fair began her MTV career in 2005 as a senior director before being promoted to vice president of talent and music (TAM) in 2008. Fair claims that in 2009 she was appointed by MTV CEO Judy McGrath to be on MTV's Visionary Committee, which discusses the future of the network.

As TAM, she reported to Senior VP Bruce Gillmer, who she claims diminished her role, excluding her from meetings and allowing younger employees to attend events like the European Music Awards instead of her.

"In the days after Gillmer became her supervisor, it became clear to Fair that Gillmer was treating her differently because of her age and gender. On numerous occasions, Gillmer accused Fair of being 'too emotional,'" states the lawsuit.

In 2009, Gilmer hired Allison Farber, despite Fair's reservations, which soon led to problems. Fair claims Farber was difficult to manage, which Gillmer allegedly made worse with special treatment like trips to awards shows and a Rihanna video shoot.

In August 2010, Farber submitted a complaint against Fair for being "inappropriately aggressive and controlling," claiming she was afraid of her.

The network then fired Fair for a "pattern of inappropriate conduct."

In a statement to THR in response to the lawsuit MTV and Viacom said, “While we don’t comment on the specifics of pending litigation, we do not believe there is any merit to this claim and plan to defend against it vigorously.”

Madison Square Garden Profits Surge In The 4th Quarter Thanks To Jeremy Lin

jeremy lin of the new york knicks against the los angeles lakers

What NBA lockout? Madison Square Garden reported profits more than tripled in the fourth quarter thanks to Linsanity.

MSG reported a 245 percent increase from last year in net income at $28.6 million.

Revenues were up, too, with MSG reporting a 42 percent increase from last year, amounting to $332.9 million.

The numbers beat Wall Street estimates of $277 million

The company attributes the rise to an increase in television ratings and ticket sales after a skyrocketed interest in New York Knicks' basketball player earlier this year.

The Linsanity phenomenon led the team to seven back-to-back wins and MSG's stock price rose more than 10 percent in February after Lin's start on the team.

However, the Garden's cash cow was traded to the Houston Rockets in July

On total, MSG reported revenue of $1.3 billion for the full fiscal year of 2012 an eight percent rise from last year.

Despite the sporting venue being a success, the same can't be said for its entertainment department.

Entertainment revenues saw a ten percent decrease in revenue from the past year with $264 million. However, they were up 41 percent in the fourth quarter.

The venue hosts more than 300 events per year. Taylor Swift, One Direction, and Bruce Springsteen are among performers of the past year at the Garden.

MSG is currently working on a costly three-year renovation amounting to nearly $1 billion.

Why 'The Sun' Is Publishing Nude Photos Of Prince Harry, Despite The Palace's Pleas

A request from the royal family didn't stop Britain's The Sun from publishing a nude Prince Harry on its cover today.

Friday's copy of the British paper reads, "Heir It Is! Pic of naked Harry you've already seen on the Internet."

Earlier this week, the prince was photographed naked while partying with friends in Las Vegas. Soon after, the Royal Family asked the media to refrain from publishing the photos of the prince claiming an invasion of privacy.

However, The Sun also published a video on its site defending its decision to run the photos, with managing editor David Dinsmore saying the paper published the photos to create an important conversation for its readers:

"For us, this is about the freedom of the press," says Dinsmore. "This is about the ludicrous situation where a picture can be seen by hundreds of millions of people around the world on the Internet, but can't be seen in the nation's favorite paper, read by eight million people every day."

Martin Scorsese Calls Film Postponement Lawsuit 'Absurd'

Director Martin Scorsese has responded to the lawsuit filed against him regarding not making a film he supposedly promised to do, calling it "absurd," reports The Wrap.

On Wednesday, Cecchi Gori Pictures sued the director and his production company for not directing an adaptation of the novel "Silence," which he allegedly said he would do following the filming of 2011's "Hugo."

Scorsese released a statement on Friday:

It is shocking to us that the lawyers for Cecchi Gori Pictures would file a suit pursuing such absurd claims considering the amicable working relationship existing between Martin Scorsese and the principals of Cecchi Gori Pictures. The claims asserted are completely contradicted by, inconsistent with, and contrary to the express terms of an agreement entered into by the parties last year.

The lawsuit was filed on the eve of Mr. Scorsese starting another picture [The Wolf of Wall Street] has all the earmarks of a media stunt.

Mr. Scorsese is confident that he will prevail in court should Cecchi Gori Pictures actually pursue this meritless action.

Here's How Celebs Are Sneakily Promoting Products And You Don't Even Realize It

Lauren Conrad

Former entertainment lawyer and Lindsay Lohan manager Michael Heller is changing the way celebrities promote products with his New York based company, Talent Resources, a global strategic marketing firm.

Instead of obvious celebrity campaigns, Heller uses celebrities to stealthily draw attention to companies by posting photos to their social networks.

"The wave of the future is putting brands with celebs on smaller activation, but not marrying them to the brand long term," Heller explained to The Hollywood Reporter, adding: "We're finding ways that don't necessarily make the celebrity a full endorser for the company. Instead, they are ambassadors for the company organically and quietly."

Here are a few recent celeb and company collaborations we bet you didn't realize were set ups:

  • Robert Pattinson smoking an electronic cigarette at the New York premiere of "Cosmopolis." "I personally gave Robert Pattinson those electronic cigarettes at the wedding of my friend," Heller told THR. "It was before he and Kristen Stewart broke up. I gave it to both of them."
  • "At a recent event for Dancing With the Stars' Derek Hough," Heller explains to THR, "Hough was picked up in a Kia car, tweeted about the car, thanked Kia and was seen using the car. TR [Talent Resources, Heller's company] then took all of the images and sent them to several platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and blogs."
  • Talent Resources rents a beachfront home in Malibu for two months during the summer where they throw parties, brand-sponsored events, charity functions and private dinners. According to THR, "This year's eclectic mix of Malibu events included Ashley Tisdale's birthday party, a Taylor Armstrong charity event and a joint birthday bash for Minnie Driver and Kathleen Robertson's sons in July, then a Hello Giggles Party with Zooey Deschanel, a birthday party for Diana Ross' son and a Dancing With the Stars cast BBQ in August."
  • During an event at Talent Resource's Malibu summer house, Adam Levine's new musical protegé Rozzi Crane brought John Mayer and Lauren Conrad along for her listening party at the party property. Unsolicited, Conrad took a picture with a life-size cutout of the Kia Motors Hamster and posted it on Instagram. Heller's team sent it out to the web, and the photo had more than 38,000 views within 24 hours. Plus, said Heller, "This shows you the power of celebrity. She took picture with her iPhone. I didn't ask her to. She's doing my job at my event. It’s amazing."

Heller was personally behind each of these product placements. [We reached out to Talent Resources asking the financial breakdown of the deals, but our requests for comment have not yet been returned.]

Robert PattinsonIn September, Heller will lead Talent Resources into New York Fashion Week with a Modelina gifting suite and Style 360 Fashion Show featuring lines from Avril Lavigne and the Kardashians.

He's also producing a few films on the side, including "Arbitrage" starring Susan Sarandon and Richard Gere and "Adult World" with Emma Roberts and John Cusack.

But Heller's main focus is running Talent resources, who presently do six key events during the year: The Malibu summer house, the Sundance Film Festival, the Super Bowl, Coachella, the Kentucky Derby, Fashion Week and a Labor Day polo match in the Hamptons.

"I love Talent Resources and what it does because I feel like I created this bridge that didn't exist," Heller explains to THR. There are 100 people making movies, but not many bridging celebrities with brands ... It gives us opportunities to expose talents and expose brands in cool, organic way."

"I look at it as the new way of advertising because everything is going viral," adds Heller. "At the end of the day, we're getting the message out there just as well as any advertisement. If I have an event, 45,000 people are looking at it on Facebook now."

Jay-Z Drops Suit Over 40/40 Club Chef's Chicken Wing Recipe

On Wednesday, Jay-Z sued Mike Shand, the former chef of his 40/40 club, for $1.5 million and on Thursday, it was revealed the beef was over ... a chicken wing recipe.

Today, the New York Post is reporting that Jay-Z has dropped the suit. But all is still not well between the music mogul and his personal-turned-club chef.

Shand’s lawyer, Vik Pawar, confirmed to the Post that the club dropped the suit, but says that “We still may sue the club for defamation of character and for the return of his possessions, including his laptop, which the club still has.”

The original suit came after Shand refused to hand over his own special spice mix for chicken wings—despite giving up all other recipes—when departing the 40/40 club after Jay wasn't pleased with the chef's revamped club menu.

Apparently, Jay-Z prefers chicken wings over king crab sliders. Noted.

See The Bloody Photo Of This Hollywood Banker After Alleged LAPD Beating

Brian Mulligan

Earlier this month, Brian Mulligan—vice chairman and managing director of Deutsche Bank’s Los Angeles media practice— filed a claim accusing LAPD officers of beating him without probable cause after a confrontation with police in which he was arrested in May.

After Mulligan, 52, was forcibly subdued in the early morning hours by LAPD after trying to enter moving vehicles and then charging officers who approached him, Mulligan alleges that officers beat him.

As a result, Mulligan says he sustained a broken shoulder blade, 15 nasal fractures, facial scars, difficulty smelling and breathing, and damages of as much as $50 million, his attorney, J. Michael Flanagan, told Bloomberg in an interview.

And now TMZ has gotten hold of a photo of Mulligan supposedly after the police beating:

 Brian Mulligan LAPD Beating

"Although the LAPD claims officers beat and arrested Mulligan after he became violent and threatening," according to TMZ, "Prosecutors declined to file charges. Our sources say prosecutors believe the photos are 'clear evidence of excessive force.'"

Mulligan's lawyer J. Michael Flanagan insist the Hollywood banker was not under the influence of drugs at the time of his arrest, and was even described as “calm, lucid, and cooperative" by LAPD later that night.

Mulligan's lawyer refuses to say why his client had $5,000 in cash on his person at the time of his arrest, but tells TMZ  "Mulligan had committed no violations of law and was not arrested. No drugs were found during a search of his person or his vehicle, and the officers found absolutely no evidence of drug use by Mulligan."

Alexander Skarsgard's Steamy New Calvin Klein Ad Looks Like A Screen Test For 'Fifty Shades of Grey'

alexander skarsgard calvin klein

A beautiful getaway with large glass-paneled windows atop a deafening cliff, a mysterious young woman waiting anxiously inside, and an ever-so calm Alexander Skarsgard racing his way towards the both.

The scene feels a lot like a page torn from E.L. James' best-selling erotic thriller, "Fifty Shades of Grey."

However, just as the two are about to lock lips, we're reminded by the voice narrator that this is not a scene from the mommy porn series, but rather a short advertisement for Calvin Klein's latest fragrance "Encounter."

There's little doubt the new ad wasn't influenced by the latest phenomenon considering how close the short film attempts to mirror elements of James' novel.  Even the ad's dark blue and grey tones bear a striking resemblance to the covers of the "50SoG" novels.

There's even focus of Skarsgard riding up an elevator—an imperative place of interest for the book—to the home shrouded in glass windows.

The "True Blood" actor has been whispered among the many men wanted to play the coveted lead role of billionaire bad boy Christian Grey in James' mommy porn series.

If anything, this two-minute tease solidifies Skarsgard as a major contender.

The 10 WORST Celebrity Pages On Facebook

$
0
0

kate-beckinsaleMany celebrities have turned to Facebook to connect with fans and reclaim lost fame.

Avril Lavigne has done it shockingly well, with over 35 million "likes," while Eminem remains the most popular celebrity on Facebook with a following upwards of 60 million.

We were surprised by some of the most popular celebrities on Facebook (Bob Marley, who died in 1981, is the 15th most "liked" on the 'book); however, there are many celebs–especially younger ones–who aren't taking advantage of promoting themselves on the site.

Instead, some allow complete strangers to post as themselves online, while others are gathering millions of followers on bare bones pages.

We dug around the social networking site to find which celebrities have the worst branded pages on Facebook.

Jennifer Lawrence

One of the most surprising young actresses to not have a Facebook page is Jennifer Lawrence, the face of the latest Hollywood phenomenon: "The Hunger Games." Instead, she has a following of slightly more than 300,000 on a fan-created page.

For a film that depended so heavily on its viral marketing, one would expect all of "The Hunger Games" actors to have strong social media connections especially after the film sold 3.8 million DVDs and Blu-ray discs during its first weekend on sale.

Christian Bale

We weren't surprised the "Batman" actor doesn't have a Facebook page; however, with middle-aged Vin Diesel owning one of the most followed pages, one would wonder why he doesn't put one together.

Currently, more than 500,000 fans like a wikipedia-based FB page on Bale.

Kate Beckinsale

Currently, typing KateBeckinsale into the Facebook search will get you nowhere.

Instead, the "Underworld" actress has 181,000 followers on an empty page.

A page of her own may have helped promote her latest film, the struggling "Total Recall."

What We Saw At The Edinburgh Fringe, The Planet's Largest Theater And Comedy Festival

$

Edinburgh Fringe

Every August, the entire city of Edinburgh, Scotland, gets completely taken over by the Fringe Festival, the largest arts event on the planet. It's also probably the largest standup comedy festival.

This year, there were 1,857,202 tickets sold for 42,096 performances of 2,695 shows in 279 venues. (And that's not counting the free shows, of which there are 814.)

The festival, heavily sponsored by alcohol brands such as Foster's and Deuchars, injects about £140 million into the Scottish economy annually. It's virtually impossible to get a hotel room in Edinburgh in August of you haven't booked months ahead.

We went for the last week of the Fringe and had a heck of a time. Here's what we saw.

The festival completely takes over the entire city. Edinburgh's main shopping thoroughfare, George Street, is blocked off to car traffic. This is a temporary set of women's bathrooms erected in the middle of the road.

By the beginning of August, every free space in Edinburgh becomes plastered in posters advertising Fringe events, most of which are comedy or alternative theater acts. It's impossible to see everything, and the best shows sell out ahead of time.

That requires planning. Here's the spreadsheet that my group of eight friends used to book their shows. We began work on our Fringe schedule back in February. Each show costs between £6 and £15. We saw about 23 shows in six days.

Missing '11th Hour' Producer Brian Gerber Left A Suicide Note

brian gerber

The Los Angeles Police Department is searching for Brian Gerber, a film producer and co-founder of the Digital Hollywood summits who went missing on Monday, Lieutenant Menza of the LAPD's Northeast Division told TheWrap.

It is suspected that Gerber may have committed suicide.

Gerber, 41, has spent much of his career in Hollywood producing documentaries such as “The Dungeon Masters” and “The 11th Hour,” a documentary on global warming that Leonardo DiCaprio co-wrote, produced and narrated.

He also co-founded the Digital Hollywood conference series through his Gerber/Rigler production company.

His family and friends posted on his Facebook page that he went missing on Monday afternoon around 4 p.m. and that he was last seen driving a silver 2004 Toyota Prius.

Two individuals with knowledge of the case told TheWrap that the producer left a suicide note. Those same sources said the police have found Gerber's car in the Los Angeles Crest, but police would not officially confirm out of concern for Gerber's family.

The case is being treated as a missing persons investigation, with the Northeast division handling it, according to Lt. Saiza of the missing persons unit.

The existence of a suicide note paired with Gerber's background in Hollywood raises the specter of Tony Scott's death earlier this month.

Scott, a famed Hollywood director and brother of Ridley Scott, jumped off the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro Aug. 19.

Gerber is married to actress Arabella Fields and has two young sons.

A nightclub wants $115,000 from a Snoop Dogg promoter who allegedly double-booked the star in June, according to TMZ.

Exchange LA club filed a lawsuit in L.A. against promotion company Movement Management after Snoop—who recently changed his moniker to "Snoop Lion"—failed to make a scheduled June 30th appearance at the nightclub.

Instead, Snoop was performing in Europe during his scheduled appearance.

The nightclub claims Movement won't pay back its $15,000 to book the performer, and is suing for breach of contract and fraud.

In addition to wanting back its deposit, Exchange LA is also asking for $100,000 in punitive damages.

Looks like someone is in the dogghouse.
