The INSIDER Summary:

  • Salma Hayek joined Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds for dinner at their home in Westchester.
  • Hayek can be seen on Instagram posing with the couple's 10-month-old daughter, while cooking some food.
  • Salma Hayek and Ryan Reynolds worked together for the first time on "The Hitman's Bodyguard."

Salma Hayek got more than she bargained for when visiting “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” costar Ryan Reynolds this week.

Standing in the kitchen of the actor’s Westchester, N.Y., home, which he shares with wife Blake Lively, Hayek posed holding the couple’s 10-month-old daughter, Ines, while stirring a large copper pot.

“When your friends invite you for dinner and you end up doing all the work,” she captioned alongside the tongue-in-cheek Instagram post. The “Deadpool” star is seen clapping in the background.

Premiering nationwide next week, “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” marks the first time Reynolds and the wife of Kering ceo François-Henri Pinault have worked together, but judging by this low-key dinner party the pals bonded on-set.

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Several rappers have been vocal about their vegan diets.
  • Rappers like RZA and Raury have gone animal product-free.
  • Waka Flocka appeared in a video making vegan-friendly blueberry muffins.

The rap scene is getting greener every day, and by way of macro bowls, which probably isn’t the first kind of bowl that come to mind. More kale and less kush might not be the hip-hop norm, but whether for humanitarian or health reasons, these vegan rappers “got the [green] juice” and are opting for Twitter beef over the real thing (thanks for both of those, Drake).

You'll never guess which of your favorite rappers have gone animal product-free.

1. Waka Flocka

Waka Flocka's got racks on racks on racks, but we suspect they might be the baking type. Proof? Watch him go hard making blueberry muffins with Raury, sans eggs and milk.

This self-proclaimed“Coconut Oil Papi” and vegan gum enthusiast might still have “wet dreams about Chik-Fil-A,” but that won’t stop him from joining Waka Flocka’s vegan #squad.

The Queen of England hates this ingredient so much that it's been banned from Buckingham Palace

  • Queen Elizabeth II despises garlic so much that it's not even allowed in Buckingham Palace.
  • Former royal chef Darren McGrady revealed that they could never serve anything with garlic or too much onions.
  • The Queen enjoys eating what's in season, as well as chocolate biscuit cake.

We already know Queen Elizabeth II enjoys a daily cocktail or two and stays away from potatoes and pasta, but there's another ingredient she despises so much that it's not even allowed in the Buckingham Palace kitchen: garlic.

Former royal chef Darren McGrady dishes to RecipesPlus: "We can never serve anything with garlic or too much onions," McGrady says. "We also couldn't serve meat that was rare, as she liked her meat more well done."

John Higgins, another former chef who cooked for the Queen, shared similar thoughts with National Post, saying, "The Queen is a wonderful lady, the royal family are wonderful people but they’re missing out on garlic because at Buckingham Palace you don’t cook with garlic. I suppose, in case you get the royal burp."

So what does the Queen enjoy eating? McGrady says the Queen likes to eat what's in season. "You can send strawberries every day to The Queen during summer at Balmoral and she'll never say a word," he shares. "Try including strawberries on the menu in January and she'll scrub out the line and say don't dare send me genetically modified strawberries. She absolutely does eat seasonal."

Queen E also has a sweet tooth and is a big fan of chocolate biscuit cake. Overall, the Queen seems like a pretty healthy eater, which is probably why she still looks fantastic at 91.

A comedian got hilarious revenge on a woman who let her dog poop at the airport

LAX

The INSIDER Summary:

  • One woman let her dog use the floor of the Los Angeles International Airport as a bathroom and neglected to clean it up.
  • Comedian Steve Hofstetter witness the behavior and took to Reddit to reveal how he got his revenge.
  • Hofstetter tricked the woman in to believing her gate had been changed and was now on the opposite end of the next terminal.
  • As far as he is aware, this caused the rude woman to miss her flight to Tokyo.

Sometimes karma can take years to come to fruition. Other times, it's pretty immediate, circling back around in the amount of time it takes an airline passenger to walk to her gate.

That's what happened to one woman, who let her dog use the floor at Los Angeles International Airport as a bathroom and neglected to clean up after it and was less than apologetic about it when confronted by her fellow travelers.

Steve Hofstetter, a comedian who was traveling from Los Angeles to Tokyo for a show when he witnessed the bad behavior, detailed the scene in a Reddit post—and revealed how he took matters into his own hands to get revenge.

Hofstetter said he was walking to his gate when he saw the woman “loudly face-timing” with her back to her dog, who was mid-poop. When a man politely pointed out the package, assuming she didn't notice, the woman “rolled her eyes and went back to face time,” groaning, “Some people are just so damned rude.”

When the dog finished and the woman walked away, leaving the pile in the middle of the airport, another passerby tried to stop her, asking, “You're not going to clean that up?” according to Hofstetter.

“They have people for that,” she allegedly replied. (There are 11 dog relief stations in LAX, by the way.)

Hofstetter says when he got to his gate, the offender was there waiting for the same flight, music blaring without headphones and dog barking at every person who walked by. “When I travel abroad, I get embarrassed by other Americans doing things one hundred times less embarrassing than leaving animal feces on the floor of an airport,” Hofstetter wrote, clearly excited about the prospect of traveling across the world with this woman.

“Everyone else tried to ignore her, sitting as far away from her as they could,” Hofstetter wrote. “I am not everyone else.”

He continues: “I sat down right next to the horrible woman. ‘Are you going to London on business?’ I said. ‘I’m going to Tokyo,’ she responded gruffly, annoyed that I interrupted her DJing.

‘Oh,’ I said. ‘Then you better hurry. That flight got moved to gate 53C. This is the flight to London.’”

Hofstetter says he only intended to give the woman a “little moment of panic as payback for how terribly she was treating everyone.” But she grabbed her bags and dog and ran off, presumably to find 53C, without even checking. Had she taken a moment, he notes, she would have noticed the monitor at the gate still said Tokyo, and that almost everyone around her had been Japanese.

The imaginary gate Hofstetter sent her to would have been on the other side of the next terminal, he says. “I don’t know if she made it back to this flight before we took off or not, but I didn’t see her board and I don’t hear her dog,” he wrote. “Her missing her flight was not my original intention, but it would be a fine punishment for her being so rude to everyone and making a low-paid stranger clean feces off the floor. What makes me wonder if I went too far is the knowledge that Delta only has one flight to Tokyo each day. Whoops.”

And getting in one final dig, he added: “Maybe she can re-book on another airline. I hear they have people for that.”

I used to hate my hair — until a $9 brush transformed how it looks

susie nice hair

The INSIDER Summary:

  • It's hard for me to manage my frizzy, coarse, and thick hair — especially in the summer.
  • Recently, I decided to give a $9 Wet Brush a try — and it changed my relationship with my hair.
  • The Wet Brush has pliable bristles that easily untangle knots and leave my hair feeling soft.
  • Now, I feel much more confident in how my hair looks and feels. I’m never going back to "regular" brushes.

Growing up, I hated brushing my hair.
No matter how much conditioner and detangling spray I used, untangling my knots often left me in tears.

Because my hair has always been thick, frizzy, and prone to knots,  it's taken a lot of trial and error to figure out what works for me.

I've lathered on just about every mousse, serum, and cream to try to style my hair, but none of them have worked. Usually, I end up with crunchy waves or stringy strands that look more like leftover spaghetti than human hair.

I used to straighten my hair almost every day, but it would eventually revert back to its naturally frizzy and wavy state when exposed to humidity, like this:

post wet brushMost days, after a few fruitless minutes of prodding and pulling, I throw my hair into a haphazard ponytail or half-bun — both of which will invariably fill my hair with knots.

Suffice it to say that I had all but given up on being able to run my fingers through my hair — but then I started using the Wet Brush, which is a hairbrush specifically designed for wet hair.

I had heard good things about the Wet Brush for years, but I was hesitant to try it because I didn't think it would work for me. But when I saw that the brush was on sale earlier this summer, I bought it on an impulse.

And I'm so glad I did. It might sound silly or dramatic to say that a $9 brush changed my relationship with my hair, but it's true.

After one use my hair was already noticeably softer and less frizzy.

susie nice hairthumb 6

The change in my hair isn't super visible, but it feels totally different. Since I started using the Wet Brush, I feel confident in my natural hair and less self-conscious of its volume.

Here's why I love it.

Instead of hacking away at knots, I can effortlessly run the Wet Brush through my hair. It leaves my hair feeling soft, plus I've noticed that I have fewer split ends.wetbrush

The type of Wet Brush I use — the Original Detangler — has thin bristles, a thick handle, and padded backing.

The bristles are my favorite part of the brush. Unlike the brushes and combs I have used in the past, the bristles aren't stiff or sharp. Instead, they are thin and pliable, which allows them to bend and adjust to my hair.

When I run the brush through my hair, it feels calming, almost like a massage for my scalp. I also love that I can now brush my hair from root to end in one continuous, easy motion.

Despite its name, it's totally fair game to use the brush on wet and dry hair. According to its website, the Wet Brush can also work on extensions and wigs.

Let me be honest.

This brush isn't a miracle product that has solved all of my problems, but it certainly makes my life easier.

I won't lie: My hair is still far from perfect. I'm still prone to frizz and put my hair up when I ride the subway or attend a concert to keep it from expanding. However, I spend far less time trying to get rid of knots in my hair after it's been in a bun all day.

Most importantly, I like how my hair looks and feels now. I don't feel like I have to hide my natural waves with heat and hair products anymore.

In my opinion, any product that makes me feel self-confident is worth holding onto.

Netflix's content boss questions Amazon's movie efforts: 'I frankly don't understand their strategy' (NFLX, AMZN)

$

Ted Sarandos Dia Dipasupil Getty final

Netflix's chief content officer Ted Sarandos doesn't get why the press always likes to pit his company against fellow streaming giant Amazon Studios.

In a wide-ranging feature for Variety, Sarandos opened up about many things, and one in particular was Amazon.

“I don’t think we compete with Amazon in the movie space at all,” Sarandos told the trade. “I frankly don’t understand their strategy. I don’t understand why perpetuating a model that feels more and more disconnected with the population is good.”

There is a major difference between the two: Amazon's movies are released in a traditional theatrical window before they become available on its site; Netflix releases its movies day-and-date, meaning they are available on the site and also in theaters at the same time. Because of this most major theater chains will not show Netflix movies because it's going against the industry's standard of giving a movie 90 days in theaters before showing on any other platform.

Because of this major difference, Sarandos is trying to give the perception that the two can't be rivals in the movie space. But it's hard to believe that.

Netflix and Amazon go after many of the same movies that go to the Sundance Film Festival every year, as well as projects by big name directors and actors floating around Hollywood that need money (something both companies have a lot of). And with the current theatrical 90-day grace period model looking like it will become extinct in the coming years, these two companies will be at each other's throats even more, as Netflix titles will presumably have a better chance to get more theatrical play.

manchester by the seaIn playing nice with theater owners, Amazon Studios has found more success when it comes to getting its titles into the awards season talk. Last year, its title "Manchester By The Sea" was nominated for six Academy Awards, became the first-ever streaming title to receive a best picture nomination, and took home two Oscars for best actor (Casey Affleck) and best screenplay. Netflix has been nominated numerous times for best documentary, but hasn't been able to crack the big Oscar categories.

Netflix's only attempt to go for the brass ring was 2015's "Beasts of No Nation," the first original movie released by Netflix. Because of Netflix's day-and-date model, the movie didn't get the big release it should have gotten, and on top of that it angered many in the industry. This led to zero Oscar nominations (though Idris Elba should have gotten one).

“I do think ‘Beasts’ is one of the most mischaracterized releases," Sarandos told Variety. "The mistake was putting it on 30 screens. And I say mistake because every time you read anything about ‘Beasts of No Nation,’ it starts with the fact that it failed at the box office. If it had been on two screens, the behavior of a couple hundred people in six major cities would have made it a success.”

The release on 30 screens was the compromise Sarandos made with  the movie's director, Cary Fukunaga, who pushed to get his movie in theaters.

And that's the true rivalry Netflix and Amazon have, currently. Everyone from Martin Scorsese (Netflix) to Woody Allen (Amazon) are working with the companies. And one of the deciding factors for many of these great talents is still the question of the theatrical release.

  • Kate Middleton and other royals aren't allowed to sign autographs because someone could forge their signature.
  • When asked for an autograph, Prince Charles says "I'm sorry, they don't allow me to do that."

Kate Middleton is usually more than happy to greet members of the public on her royal engagements, but if they ask her for an autograph, she's obliged to politely decline.

The royal family follows a strict protocol to mark their status and maintain their reputation. Express reports that among these many rules is a ban on signing autographs. The reason is pretty simple: to prevent people from forging their signatures.

They do try to be nice about it — Prince Charles is said to reply "I'm sorry, they don't allow me to do that" if people ask for his autograph.

As intensely public as the royal family is, it makes sense that the way they sign their names should remain private for security reasons.

Selfies, though, are fair game.

Gwen Stefani threw a magical Harry Potter-themed birthday party for her son

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Gwen Stefani threw an elaborate "Harry Potter" birthday party for her son Zuma.
  • The party included letters to Hogwarts, cardboard cutouts of characters, and tons of cauldrons and potion bottles.
  • The highlight of the party was the Hogwarts-themed cake.

The wizarding world of "
Harry Potter" is a perfect theme for pretty much any occasion, from "Harry Potter" weddings to "Harry Potter" baby showers. There’s even "Harry Potter" yoga! And this weekend, Gwen Stefani hosted an absolutely magical "Harry Potter" birthday party for her son Zuma, who turns nine on August 21.

The singer obviously couldn’t keep the fun to herself and used Instagram Stories to share shots of the party, which started with an enchanted step through Platform 9 3/4, natch. And on the other side? "Harry Potter" himself (or at least a life-sized cutout of him) was waiting to greet guests.

Hogwarts letters addressed to Mr. H. Potter swept out of the fireplace and across the room…

An owl-shaped fruit carving watched over a tray of healthy snacks…

And life-sized cutouts of both Draco Malfoy and Severus Snape guarded the beverage table, which displayed a set of golden goblets…

Another table featured a vast array of cauldrons and potion bottles (sprinkles and whipped cream) for some magical concoctions (yummy chocolate sundaes)…

But the showstopper was Zuma’s birthday cake, which included a banner of the little dude’s name, as well as the crest representing Hogwarts’ four houses and a fondant sorting hat on top.

Once the party guests were filled with sugar, they could burn off their energy in a towering volcano bouncy slide.

While it’s unclear if Stefani’s current bae, Blake Shelton, or her ex (and Zuma’s dad) Gavin Rossdale were among the guests, we have no doubt that anyone who was lucky enough to get an invite had an amazing time. This is one celebration that Stefani’s little guy will never forget.

Happy birthday, Zuma!

Kim Kardashian revealed the biggest makeup mistakes she's made

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Kim Kardashian is known for her stunning makeup looks — but she still has some beauty regrets.
  • She thinks her bright, matchy looks were "so cheesy."
  • She also has had to learn how to perfect her spray tan process.

Kim Kardashian is credited with single-handedly popularizing the contouring trend and even sits atop her own beauty empire these days, so it’s hard to imagine a time when the makeup mogul made regrettable cosmetic choices. But make them, she did.

Kardashian took to her site and app to talk about her old glam. “It’s fun to look back at the old glam I used to do,” the mom of two wrote. “Now, I tend to stick to a monochromatic nude look. I like to keep things simple but I still love to change it up every now and then.” And while she’s more or less nailed her ~*lewk*~ these days, there was a time when she was figuring stuff out like the rest of us. But the difference is that many of her makeup mistakes are recorded in history. *Cringe*

Kim Kardashian makeup

In her opinion, one of the worst cosmetic choices she made was being too matchy. She admits, “I love a monochromatic look, but this was just so cheesy. In the early 2000s, I would do a lot of bright colors, especially turquoise. I wore a turquoise top and turquoise eye makeup — and even turquoise flower hair clips! That glam was so in then, but definitely not something I’ll do again.”

Kim Kardashian makeup

She’s also had to learn how to tan properly, as in the early days “there were definitely a few times when [she] turned orange.” Now she knows the secret to the perfect glow: exfoliating. “The best tip I’ve learned is to exfoliate really well beforehand. Otherwise, the spray tan will look blotchy and uneven. I also use spray tan mitts and scrub my whole body, so I’m completely exfoliated.”

Hopefully, Kardashian isn’t too scared to experiment, but the golden glow she’s got going on now definitely seems to be working for her.

Kourtney Kardashian is being shamed for going on vacation without her kids

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Fans have noticed that Kourtney Kardashian on vacation with her boyfriend without her children.
  • Twitter users are now shaming the reality star for not bringing her kids along.
  • The mom-shaming has gotten so bad that fans even commented on Kourtney's birthday post to Kylie Jenner telling her to go home to her kids.

Kourtney Kardashian is feeling fans’ fury! After spending much of her summer jet-setting & yacht-hopping, people are wondering where the star’s 3 kids are — claiming she spends more time with her BF than her own children! Ouch.

Kourtney Kardashian, 38, has been having a summer of a lifetime — and her fans have noticed! Specifically, the reality star’s followers are pissed that Kourtney seems to be on vacay more than she’s at home with her and ex Scott Disick‘s, 34, three adorable kids. While fans have criticized her for not brining Mason, 7, Penelope, 5, and Reign, 2 along on her lavish trips, they’ve also bashed her for partying with her much-younger boyfriend Younes Bendjima, 24, instead of being a “good mom.” Yikes! Click here to see pics of Kourtney and Scott’s cute kids.

Younes and Kourt’s latest trip took place in Egypt, and consisted of lounging in beachwear by the ocean, riding camels, and visiting the pyramids. Commenting about this crazy-cool getaway — that none of her kids were invited to — fans did NOT go easy on the celeb. “She’s probably spent more time vacationing than with her kids,” one social media user wrote on Twitter, commenting on this post. “It’s sad that both her and Scott have decided to travel and party a lot now without the kids! As a mom I couldn’t do it,” another revealed. One commenter basically said what everyone is thinking — and they nailed it. “Once you become a parent, u stop doing you every week. It should be doing things w/ the kids n giving them those memories. But what do I no!”

Things have gotten so bad that fans even attacked an innocent “Happy birthday” Instagram post Kourt shared for her little sister, Kylie Jenner, 20. “Happy birthday baby sister! Tinkerbell sleep shirts for life. I love you my lip kit queen,” the oldest Kardashian sister captioned a sweet photo of her and Kylie laughing together. In response, some angry fans commented, “GO HOME TO YOUR KIDS” and “Go back taking care of ur kids ugly grandma.” Pretty harsh, right?

This is not the first time Kourtney’s been mom-shamed though. After posting a pic of herself spending time with friends and sipping wine, fans wrote that they wanted her to “go home and be a mother.” However, Kourtney seems to be the one who wants Scott to turn his partying ways around — for the sake of their kids! It’s also hard to ignore that Kourtney posts tons of adorable pics with her and her little ones.

The INSIDER Summary:

  • A new report from BBC claims that Taylor Swift and Katy Perry might perform together at the MTV VMAs.
  • Fans are going crazy over the rumor and the possibility to see the feud put to rest for good.
  • Katy Perry is confirmed to perform, but there's no word on whether Swift will even show.
  • Taylor Swift previously used the award show to settle her feud with Kanye West.

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry might just put the bad blood to rest for good at the MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 27, according to a wild new rumor. So are the two really going to perform together?!

Taylor Swift, 27, and Katy Perry, 32, will reportedly perform together at the MTV VMAs, as BBC claims in an Aug. 14 article! “She’s hosting this year’s MTV Video Awards,” the report says of Katy, “Where she’s also expected to pick up a load of awards AND is rumoured to be performing alongside Taylor Swift.” All we have to say about this is…error 404: wig not found.

BBC adds that the duet “would be a life-changing moment for pop fans all over the world,” which is obviously true, and people are already flipping out over the rumor. “Honestly if those two perform together,” one fan wrote, “I’m calling b.s. on all the drama they had.” Another joked that a magical collaboration called “Bad Bish ft. Nicki & Kendrick” is just waiting to happen. “If the rumors are true of Katy and Taylor performing together at the @vmas, then I’m going to cry because I’ve always wanted this,” one tearful fan tweeted

Katy is 100% set to perform at the award show, but there’s no confirmation that Tay Tay will even attend. Still, Taylor has used the show to settle feuds before — we’ll never forget how she presented enemy Kanye West with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2015 MTV VMAs — so it could happen. Daniel Craig on coming back as Bond: 'There is no decision just yet'

Daniel Craig has finally broken his silence and talked publicly about if he will return to play James Bond once again.

"I'd hate to burst the bubble, but no decision has been made at the moment," Craig told Morning Magic 106.7 in Boston on Tuesday. "There's a lot of noise out there and nothing official has been confirmed and I'm not, like, holding out for more money or doing anything like that. It's just all very personal decisions to be made at the moment. I know they're desperate to get going and I would in theory love to do it, but there is no decision just yet."

So there you have it. Despite numerousreports that Craig will be returning as 007 for the 25th Bond movie, which was announced in July will be released on November 8, 2019, it sounds like Craig is still working things out.

Craig will be seen next in Steven Soderbergh's heist movie, "Logan Lucky," which opens in theaters Friday.

Craig has been playing James Bond since 2006's "Casino Royale." His last movie as Bond, 2015's "Spectre," grossed over $880 million worldwide. However, leading up to the release of the movie Craig seemed to tire of the role, now famously stating that he'd rather "slit my wrists" than play Bond again.

How Queen Elizabeth II felt about Princess Diana's death, according to a letter she wrote six days later

princess diana queen elizabethThe INSIDER Summary:

  • Queen Elizabeth II was heavily criticized for the way she handled the death of Princess Diana.
  • The Queen chose to stay in Scotland with Prince William and Harry instead of returning to England immediately.
  • A letter Queen Elizabeth wrote to her close aide reveals just how devastated she actually was and why she chose to stay in Scotland.
  • Queen Elizabeth chose to protect the boys from the media frenzy surrounding Buckingham Palace.

When Princess Diana was killed in a car accident in Paris in August 1997, the royal family was heavily criticized for the way her death was handled.

Queen Elizabeth II took some of the harshest criticism for what people said was her very business-as-usual attitude in the wake of tragedy. She was in Scotland with Diana's two young sons, Princes William and Harry, at the time of the accident, and she chose to stay there with the boys rather than return to England immediately. This decision drew ire from many of Diana's supporters, who felt she should have returned immediately to England.

But now, a newly discovered letter written by the queen to her close aide Lady Henriette Abel Smith just days after Diana died sheds more light on that time than ever before. It explains the queen's reasoning behind staying in Scotland and shows how deeply hurt she actually was by the tragedy even though she remained stoic in public.

"It was indeed dreadfully sad, and she is a huge loss to the country. But the public reaction to her death, and the service in the Abbey, seem to have united people round the world in a rather inspiring way. William and Harry have been so brave and I am very proud of them," the queen wrote.

She went on to say that she chose to stay in Scotland with Prince William and Prince Harry because she believed it was in their best interest at the time to have some distance from the media circus surrounding Buckingham Palace.

"I think your letter was one of the first I opened — emotions are still so mixed up but we have all been through a very bad experience!" she wrote.

Despite how the public interpreted that event, Elizabeth's decision to do right by the boys above all else was not wrong.

8 reasons why we're obsessed with Jason Momoa

Jason Momoa red carpet

The INSIDER Summary:

  • There are plenty of reasons to love "Game of Thrones" actor Jason Momoa.
  • He often shows off his sense of humor and pics of his family on Instagram.
  • He also loves to pay homage to his Hawaiian heritage.

Jason Momoa looks like he's one part Viking, one part rock star and two parts Hawaiian Jesus — but one thing's for certain, he's all hunk. And though his looks are certainly showstopping, they're not the only reason we love him so much.

He's handsome, he's talented, he's romantic... did we mention he's handsome? I mean, there are a million reasons we can't get enough of "Game of Thrones," and we're always wistfully waiting for Momoa to pop back in.

If you're not as obsessed as we are, it's officially time for you to hop aboard the Momoa train. Here's why.

1. He's got a fire inside

Getting into character for an audition is hard. It's a sterile environment, and the people reading with you don't usually give much back. But, dude. Momoa's audition to land the part of Dothraki warlord Khal Drogo in "GoT," is crazy good. He performed the Haka, a traditional South Pacific war dance.

"I'm half Hawaiian, and the Haka is a very sacred thing, something your family teaches you," he said in an interview. "My father taught me."

2. He's not afraid to get physical

Momoa is a big dude, but he's super in shape and isn't afraid to throw his weight around. At a Comic-Con presentation for "Justice League" in July 2017, he interacted with fans as he sat cross-legged on the ground, thrashed his hair around as he showed off his trident and even smashed his chair on stage to get everyone riled up (in a good way).

He'll also happily take a punch for the sake of a role. To play the title role in "Conan," the actor enlisted a friend to help, well, rough him up. "I wanted to make it look like he was more barbaric, so I had a buddy punch me in the nose," he told the "Huffington Post" in 2011. "He should always have a broken nose, I think — a constant flow of blood coming out of his body somewhere."

3. He's #FamilyGoals

Not only does Momoa make up half of one of Hollywood's — and, you know, the planet's — hottest couples (his wife is Lisa Bonet), but he also has two healthy, happy, gorgeous children.

On top of that, the hulking six-foot, four-inch star is a total softie when it comes to Bonet. "She's so amazing," he told "HuffPost Live.""She's an angel. She's amazing. God bless her." He also said he wrote her part in "Road to Paloma" specifically with her in mind because she is his dream girl. "I always wanted to work with her. It's funny [though] — she made me shy." Be still, our hearts!

aly raismanThe INSIDER Summary:

  • Aly Raisman reveals how she lost confidence in the gym in her new book "Fierce."
  • The gymnast admitted that she used to spend a lot of time worrying about what others thought of her.
  • Watching "13 Reasons Why" inspired to gymnast to offer up complete honesty when writing her book.
  • She realized the importance of being confident and not worrying so much.

Olympic gymnast, Aly Raisman, once felt unhappy on the podium; not because she didn’t love gymnastics; but, because she ‘lost confidence in the gym.’ She tells all in her new book, ‘Fierce’ and she gave us a preview!

Aly Raisman is a role model to hundreds of thousands of people around the globe. She’s a two-time Olympian and team captain of the U.S. women’s Olympic gymnastics teams [2012 and 2016]. She’s graced the pages of "Sports Illustrated," and, she’s only 23-years old. Aly has it all, right? — Well, first things first, she wants you to know that “nobody’s perfect.” So, although she’s been quite blessed throughout her life, Aly’s faced some personal obstacles throughout her career. When HollywoodLife.com caught up with her at The Leesa Dream Gallery in New York City, Aly admitted that she used to spend a lot of her energy worrying about what other people thought of her. At one point, her focus on other people’s opinions consumed her so much, that her confidence started to dwindle. And, that eventually affected her gymnastics.

In 2012, although Aly left the London Olympics with gold medals in the team and floor competitions, as well as the bronze medal on the balance beam, she wasn’t too pleased with herself. “I was so worried what other people were going to think of me, that I put too much pressure on that, and I didn’t perform as well as I would’ve like to [in London],” she admitted. And, when she returned from London, she admittedly still wasn’t competing well. The problem? — Aly’s worrying made her lose confidence in the gym.

After some valuable advice from her mother and season 1 of "13 Reasons Why," Aly came to the realization that she had to start competing for herself and no one else. And, that’s one of the reasons why she decided to add the title, author to her already impressive resume. “Fierce: How Competing For Myself Changed Everything”, is the official title of Aly’s new book, which is slated to be released on Nov 14. In her tell-all memoir, she reveals a different side of her, both on and off the gymnastics floor, that we’ve never seen before. And, the main theme of her candid book? — Pure honesty. Check out our full interview with the Olympic gold medalist, below.

How did you come up with the title of your book?

“Throughout the book, you really see a transformation of my character. My whole life, I’ve always put so much pressure on myself. For example, when I was competing in the 2012 All Around, I was so worried what other people were going to think of me, that I put too much pressure on that, and I didn’t perform as well as I would’ve like to. I ended up getting fourth place in the All Around and then when I came back to gymnastics after that, you’d think I’d be a little more confident. But, for some reason, although I did so well in London, I felt like I still put so much pressure on myself that I forgot how to be confident in the gym, which is bizarre. But, I was not really competing well. Every time I would compete, I’d be very worried about what people would think and I couldn’t get it out of my head.”

“Finally, just before the Rio Olympics, I just started thinking and my mom was like, ‘This is enough. Stop putting so much pressure on yourself. Just do it because you love it. It’s not about winning, it’s really about the kind of person you are. People will remember you for the kind of person you are, not because you’re on the podium.’ And, of course you want to be on the podium, you work so hard and you’re an athlete. But, she said, ‘That’s not what’s important. What’s the value of being on the podium if you’re not happy?’ Ever since she said all of that, a few months leading up to Rio, things really started coming together. And, when Rio came and the All Around Final, I just said, ‘I’m going to do this for myself, and not anyone else.’ It worked out, but, it was a long time to get there. It’s hard when the whole world is watching you. So, I’m honest in my book about all of that.”

In 2012, you said you really didn’t understand the kind of impact you truly made on young girls. Now, five years later, you have a better understanding. Tell us more about that growth period from 2012 to now.

“I just understand what being a role model is, more now. And, it shows in my book and people are going to be really shocked. That’s why I waited so long to come out with the book because it’s much needed honesty. I was really inspired by "13 Reasons Why." I was watching it and I love the story because it really showed what happens in life, and it was so honest. So, I was like, ‘if I’m going to do a book, I have to tell the truth about my life and what’s going on.’ Because, how are you going to help other people if you aren’t honest? I had to be a tool for people of all ages to look at.”

“I also talked about how I learned how to be confident and not worry as much. But, I also talk about how I still worry; but it’s healthier now. I’ve been made fun when I was younger by the boys in my class and now I’m learned to accept myself. I want people to know that when you focus more on the kind of person you are, it helps you be more confident. No one’s perfect, but that’s OK; the more we talk about it, the more we can help other people. Now with social media, everyone thinks everyone else’s lives are so perfect. But, that’s not it, we’re all the same, we all stress out. Society likes to act that if you have a lot of followers on social media, then you have the best life. The less you’re on your phone, the better.”

We were lucky enough to catch Aly while she was in New York City with Leesa Sleep, a mattress brand she’s been partnered with since the 2016 Olympics. Aly and Leesa have been helping those in need, through the brand’s One-Ten program. For every ten mattresses sold, the company donates one to a homeless shelter, Aly told us. Leesa and Aly most recently worked with Heading Home shelter, for single mothers and children, to donate mattresses. “I’m excited to keep working with Heading Home, because Leesa has donated 18,000 mattresses to homeless people, which is amazing,” Aly gushed, adding, “I’m excited to continue this. Everything Leesa does is just so incredible. “

  • But the Duchess of Cambridge isn't the only royal who knows a thing or two about looking good.
  • These are 10 stylish royals who aren't Kate Middleton.

When it comes to stylish royals, Kate Middleton is often the first to jump to mind. Natalie Portman

The INSIDER Summary:

  • A lot of celebrities choose to skip college, but these stars went back for a degree after they were already famous.
  • Child stars like Dakota Fanning and Ariel Winter didn't let fame stop them from pursuing a degree.
  • Eva Longoria went back for her master's degree after a successful run on "Desperate Housewives."

There’s a routine that nearly every high school senior goes through: apply to college, wait an ungodly amount of time, then find out which university you’re going to ship yourself off to at the end of summer. For most, college is a transition period for early 20-somethings to learn more about themselves and what they want to do with the rest of their lives. However, for a lot of teen stars — whose careers seem set before they reach legal adulthood — things like college are put on the back burner to pursue other endeavors.

And while a lot of celebrities usually opt out of university to focus on their work, there are some stars who choose to press pause on their burgeoning careers in pursuit of a higher education. Take a look at 11 celebrities who went to college after they already famous, ahead.

Ariel Winter

After making a name for herself as one of the Dunphy children on the Emmy-winning comedy "Modern Family,"Ariel Winter was accepted into the University of California, Los Angeles in 2016. However, after scheduling conflicts, the actress was forced to defer for a year and is expected to begin her freshman year this fall as a political science major with dreams of becoming a lawyer. Winter's "Modern Family" co-star Nolan Gould also joked about "sibling" rivalry, considering he was recently accepted to UCLA's opposing school, University of Southern California.

America Ferrera

Not too long after starting her freshman year at University of Southern California, America Ferrera was offered the lead role in "Ugly Betty." After a conversation with her professor, who advised her to take the job and come back to finish her degree later, America — who had already starred on "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"— dropped out of USC to begin her television career. She returned to USC in 2008 and graduated with a bachelor's degree in international relations in 2013, 10 years after she initially began.

Dakota Fanning

Dakota Fanning was already a household name, with critically acclaimed hits like "I Am Sam" and "Uptown Girls," by the time she decided to take a break from her acting career to attend New York University in 2011. There, Fanning attended the Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where she majored in women's studies, with a focus on women in film and culture. She graduated in 2014.

'Game of Thrones' cinematographer describes shooting that battle of roasting Lannisters, including trouble with an HBO safety officer

Eastwatch tyrion jaime

Warning: Spoilers for "Game of Thrones" season seven. If you aren't caught up on the series, read at your own risk.

Remember when Daenerys rode Drogon and fried the Lannister army? That battle sequence was inspired by "Apocalypse Now."

Business Insider recently talked to Robert McLachlan, a “Game of Thrones” cinematographer who worked on season seven episodes “The Spoils of War“ and “Eastwatch.”

McLachlan talked about why he loves working with smoke, what inspired the look and feel of the Loot Train Attack, and why a health and safety officer had to interfere with production. He also told us about a simply lit scene from “Eastwatch” that he is obsessed with.

Beyond this season, McLachlan has worked on other big "Game of Thrones" episodes including season three's "The Rains of Castamere" and "Mhysa," as well as season five's "The Dance of Dragons" and "Mother's Mercy."

McLachlan talked about what it was like to shoot such an epic battle sequence for one of the biggest shows on television:

SEE ALSO: Who was the smartest, dumbest, luckiest, and most emotional this week on 'Game of Thrones'

"My initial reaction after reading the outline of this [Loot Train] battle was, 'Oh boy, this is not gonna happen quickly.'"

"My other thought was, 'We're gonna need lots of cuts and shots.' It's a really daunting action sequence. This battle is massive, so it was important to keep the momentum. We were also under a lot of pressure, since the Battle of the Bastards was one of the best battles ever filmed, including television and movies."

"Our biggest enemy and our biggest ally is mother nature."

"For cinematographers, consistency often measures the quality of our work. So thank goodness there was smoke involved. Smoke helps with consistency when you're shooting exteriors, but I also love the way it looks, especially with the sun shining behind it."

"For inspiration and reference, director Matt Shakman and I looked at the Napalm scene in 'Apocalypse Now' and 'Saving Private Ryan.'"

McLachlan and Shakman wanted the brutality of the battle to feel realistic.

katy perry orlando bloomThe INSIDER Summary:

  • Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are officially back together following their split almost six months ago.
  • The pair were first spotted together at an Ed Sheeran concert in Los Angeles.
  • The two are reportedly trying harder than ever to make it work this time around.

Seems like distance makes the heart grow fonder, at least for Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom. The couple, who split nearly six months ago, are officially back on—and they apparently don’t care who knows.

The 32-year-old singer and 40-year-old actor first sparked reunion rumors on Saturday when they were spotted together at an Ed Sheeran concert in Los Angeles, where sources claim that Perry sat on Bloom’s lap and the two even shared a few kisses. The exes further fueled the talk when they were photographed leaving together on Bloom’s motorcycle.

Well, turns out Perry and Bloom weren’t trying to be coy about their reunion. According to sources for E! News, the exes, who broke up after 10 months of dating in March, are officially back together and trying harder than ever to make it work the second time around.

“When they went out in public, they were aware that people would start speculating that they were back on, and they are OK with that,” the source told E! News. “They love each other and never stopped.”

It seems as though the two have remained friendly ever since they split up. According to the source, Perry and Bloom have kept in contact the entire time, leaving room for feelings to rekindle.

“They have never cut communication since they broke up,” a source said. “They just took a break because it was the best thing for them at that time, [but they] are seeing each other again.”

As for how Bloom and Perry intend to make things work this time, the source revealed that the couple is working on better communication.

“Katy and Orlando want this to work this time, so they are working on mending their relationship,” the source said. “They’ve had some really good talks and have a better understanding on their needs. Time will tell at this point, but [things are] looking very positive.”

Though we’ve seen dozens of celebrity couples call it quits this summer, Bloom and Perry are giving us hope that love can live on in Hollywood. (Anna Faris and Chris Pratt, please follow suit.)
